Interest Stacks

(overt) A classic GL series for a reason. A lot of really interesting explorations of romance, identity, and what it means to be in love. It hit really hard when I watched it in high school and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's ever struggled with understanding their own feelings. Unique in that a lot of the characters are not exactly likeable, but they are interesting. PSA before you start watching though, it's unfinished and will probably remain that way.

(overt) When I first watched this I totally thought it was just gonna be bait so I was pleasantly surprised. A very cute and simple high-school romance, nothing super unique or exceptional about it but still a fun watch.

(overt) I'm a big fan of the manga this is based on so I was a bit disappointed that it got the OVA treatment instead of a full adaptation, but I still really enjoyed it. A very cute opposites-attracted style romance with two very likeable characters that have great chemistry. Totally worth watching imo, and if you enjoy it I'd definitely recommend reading the manga.

(overt) If you're at all into the recent villainess explosion in isekai you've gotta watch this. A really unique take on the genre with possibly the greatest main character to ever exist, and a cast of fun (if a little one-dimensional) potential girlfriends and boyfriends around her. Katarina/Maria >>>!!!

(overt) SO UNDERRATED it actually makes me mad. Technically an isekai but that doesn't really factor into the story at all. They two mains have amazing chemistry and the supporting cast is also super fun. I found the magic system a bit confusing but the animation for it is really beautiful so I didn't really care so much by the end lol. Be warned they do the annoying thing of not having the characters get together officially until the very end, but it's definitely worth it to keep watching until that point.

(overt/implied) For it being her job, MC is not very good at yuri. Jokes aside, I think the concept for this show is really good (girls working in a cafe themed after old-school yuri trope of catholic school "romantic friendships"), but I just wish it had utilized the uniqueness of the setting a bit more. A lot of the time I felt like the characters were being constrained by the "rules" of the romantic-friendship genre even outside of what is supposed to just be their workplace lol. I think the show is good and interesting, especially for those who don't know very much about these kinds of older anime as it walks you through the genre pretty throughly, but the romance isn't that compelling for me personally and I enjoyed the concept more.

(OVERT) Look, I know, but hear me out. This show is so campy and insane it's actually a masterpiece. If you go into it expecting realistic characters or story you're obviously not going to like it, but if allow the absolute batshit wild plot of lesbians getting horny and turning into mecha weapons to suck you in, I guarantee you'll have a great time watching this series. Also, as a bonus, the main couple actually have pretty great chemistry and the ending is a decently satisfying conclusion.

I can't believe I gave this a 10/10 but here we are
