The official website of the Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen Season II (Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2) television anime announced on Tuesday that episode five will be delayed indefinitely in order to maintain the quality of the production. The broadcast will be replaced by select episodes of the first season for the rest of the summer season.

Yuki Inaba (Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou) is helming the second season at Studio Palette and SILVER LINK. Studio Palette is also credited for the series composition with Inaba and Shunsuke Ishikawa (Blue Lock: Episode Nagi director). Kaori Yoshikawa (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru chief animation director) is designing the characters. Ryouta Tomaru, Seima Iwahashi, and Ryuutarou Fujinaga from Elements Garden are composing the music.

The anime adapts Sazane's action fantasy light novel, which he began writing under the Fantasia Bunko imprint in May 2017, featuring illustrations by Ao Nekonabe. Kadokawa published the 15th volume in June 2023, with the 16th volume scheduled to be released on September 20.

Young Animal serialized a manga adaptation by okama (Himawari!) from May 2018 to March 2021. Hakusensha published the seventh and final volume in April that year.

Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in February 2019. The 13th light novel volume went on sale on July 23. The seventh manga volume shipped in October 2023.

Does not come as a surprise. The quality of Silver Links animes have taken a serious nose dive in recent years, and they have butchered some mangas that i like very much, with their trashy adpaptations. Im mainly talking about Yozakura and Ragna

I wish they had delayed Ragna Crimson to raise the quality.

This is terrible news, though I would rather wait than have this series be rushed with subpar production. If there was such a huge problem to begin with they should have addressed this before actually rolling the continuation. At least they made a good decision to Postpone things till they work things out.

Truly feel bad for fans that were interested in this. I've not watched any of the anime, but it's been on my MAL list for some day.

Hehehe the usual problems

Disappointing, but not really surprising. I know that animators and designers are often forced to work with limited budgets and very punishing deadlines to make shows like this but Our Last Crusade definitely could have benefitted from a longer development time and a bigger budget, otherwise, why bother making an action-heavy show at all?

@Boazanian as I heard, the issue is that Silver Link moved almost all of its staff to other projects and mostly dumped this one on Studio Palette which could not handle 2 projects at once.

No surprises there, considering how both these studios are working on another anime just this season. Considering SILVER LINK's track record, this is nothing new.

This at least saves me 22 minutes of my Wednesday night's... and hopefully saves the teams their health.

I watched season 1 of this anime during COVID, and I thought this anime was....alright. I remember this sequel has been announced 2 or 3 years ago so they should have a lot of time to prepare back then. After all these years, production for this anime hasn't been completed? And they need to postpone this show indefinitely? What's going on with their production and their management tho?

I was planning to watch season 2, but I also postponed it because it's not that high in my seasonal priority right now. I already have a busy schedule this season anyways. Might be better off that I forget this sequel existed.

Every new episode looked even worse than the previous one so I'm not surprised at all. The question is, when will it come back if at all.

classic kadokawa x silverlink, hope they don't mess up Ansatsu Kizoku ffs (they probably will)

Aug 6, 4:58 AM by ryoko6

mismanagement is common in anime productions this days and there is no covid excuse anymore

Season 2 came out almost 4 years after season 1.... but they will delay it again. Thats insane

i'd rather have anime and its animators take longer to make a series, resulting in good art/animation than be rushed and everything suffer as a result

and it was apparent from the first teaser the quality was gonna be bad :/

Aug 6, 2:46 AM by EcchiGodMamster

The animation has been noticeably bad, and I guess the light novel is just popular enough to pressurize the studios to get a grip.

It's pretty conscipicous how this happened just before a bunch of big fights are about to start.

Seems like it might be to change the art style and faces back to how they were in season 1. After literally everyone complained about how it looked.

Aug 6, 1:01 AM by raichu1998

They replaced the Covid excuse with ''maintain the quality of the production'' now , I see.....

Hopefully will be back soon.

I'm glad I haven't started watching this season yet.
