ZettaiBlog 474: Plants are not a *girly* deck theme!

Yu☆Gi☆Oh! 5D's
WARNING: BECAUSE OF REASONS I MUST TELL EVERYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 TO GET OUT OF MY BLOG! OBEY OR I’LL BE DEFENESTRATED! ALSO BE WARY OF WILD ROAMING SPOILERS! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
Welcome back. Last time we did a birthday blog for Topaz. It sucked. Now it’s time for my birthday blog! It’ll also suck.
: Now, don’t be so negative! I’m sure you’ll do a good job!
Thanks for the compliments, Kallen.
: I’m not Kallen, I’m…
My bad. At least I didn’t call you Akiza Izinski. Why did 4kids think you were pseudo-Russian?
: Bold of you to assume 4kids thinks.
Good point. Boo dub names! They’re usually ugly and only serve to divide a fanbase!
: I’d say to get off your soapbox, but it’s your birthday. Do your worst.
Actually I’m done. What? I don’t go on endless tirades all the time, only sometimes.
: That’s a relief. Now can you begin the analysis?
Of course!
: Thank you.
Body
Hair
Aki has dark red hair. It’s a very nice color and goes well with her. Her hairstyle is a bit spiky-messy but in a good way, though between it and the hair color she looks like Kallen from Code Geass (which was the main joke fans did back then). Notably, she holds a weird spiky thing over her bangs. This is something she wears to keep her powers in check (more on this later). Once she controls them the spiky thing is gone and sometimes she wears other things like a hairband. All in all, Aki has pretty good hair, being shounen-ish in a good way,
Score: 8
Eyes
Aki has brown eyes. Brown is a pretty good color and goes well with her hair and clothes, so no issues there. However, her eye shape is… weird. I mean, it’s eye-shaped, as in kinda realistic, which clashes a bit with the whole big anime eye thing. It’s not a big deal, but it looks a bit off. Still, Aki’s brown eyes are very nice.
Score: 8.5
Build
Aki has measurements! Well, only height and weight, but that’s the norm on kids anime characters. Anyway she’s 163cm tall and weighs 43kg, so fairly normal in a good way. Overall she looks good too, though like most girls in early YGO she’s quite busty sadly. They don’t make a huge deal of it (though her fanart sadly does), but it’s definitely a minus especially since she usually has cleavage. Other than that Aki has no real issues here.
Score: 8
Butt
Aki has some shots of her ass in the biker suit. She’s not bad. And that’s why tight bottoms > skirts any day.
Score: 5.5
Clothes
Aki does well here. Her usual clothes are pretty cool, even if they have cleavage and a lesser buttcape. She also has her riding suit, which is red with black bits and looks tight and sexy. She has a few other rarely-seen outfits, like her blazer school uniform or doctor coat in the finale, but mainly those two. At least they’re good ones!
Score: 7
Mind
Personality
Aki is pretty cool. She’s a Psycho Duelist, someone with the power to make card monsters and effects real. Instead of summoning her favorite husbando she uses this to cause destruction, as her life was miserable due to said ability and even her parents scorned her. Only the leader of the Arcadia Movement (a group of Psycho Duelist), a man called Divine, seemed to understand her and is who turned her into the path of destruction. However she changes for the better once she meets Yusei, who tries his darndest to understand her. Eventually Aki realizes she’s been had by Divine and becomes more of her own person. Sadly she then doesn’t do much in the series but becoming interested in Riding Duels once she meets Sherry and realizes “Holy crap, women can ride bikes too”. At the end she becomes a doctor randomly, for she must be secretly a blue Cure.
Now for personality. Aki is really badass when she first appears, using the name of the Black Rose Witch (As the Black Rose Dragon is her ace, this season gave everyone dragons for silly reasons) and enjoying causing pain and destruction. She however is more of a nice friendly girl, which she goes back to being once Yusei does some Talk no Jutsu on her (wait, wrong anime). She’s pretty cool and a decent duelist, but because Gallop sucks she barely gets to show her stuff. Still, her earlygame is so good she’s the best girl in the franchise easily. If only she’d stuck to the landing.
Score: 9
Reception
Aki is weird here. First the good parts: She’s one of the most popular girls in the YGO franchise, arguably the most beloved among fans of the whole series (or up there), and she has a lot of nice fanart. For the first part of the series she also has good screentime. Now the bad: After episode 65 her screentime takes a nosedive to the point OFICIALLY she’s called a “benchwarmer” (lucky bench). I blame Crow hogging the focus, stupid Crow who secretly must be a pink Cure or something. Not even her getting into card games in motorcycles (Sorry, riding duels. World of difference.) spared Aki’s downfall. To be fair while Gallop handled the series all girls suffered heavily from this, boo that sexist studio! Still, Aki is a well-loved main character and thus does well here. Also she has 20 different pics in MAL and that’s hilarious. Show Hachiman how it’s done, Aki.
Score: 8
Libido
Aki is interesting here. While she has no outright pairings, she gets a lot of shipping moments with Yusei. So many I was a bit disappointed they didn’t end together. She also gets some people pairing her with fellow benchwarmer Luka, which is a cute shotacom couple but for once the Yusei one is better. Still, having both certainly helps, Yusei also calls Aki a sadist and she doesn’t mind it (though that was before she became nicer).
Score: 7
Age
Aki is 16 years old when she debuts (there’s a lot of 16s on her for some reason) but she becomes 17-18 during the show. She also shows up in her twenties in the epilog and younger in flashbacks. Solid age overall. Apparently her birthday is the 16th of August (see?), so go her being Leo the best sign and early happy birthday too.
Score: 9
Voice
Ayumi Kinoshita has a nice voice for Aki. She mostly seems a toku actress though.
Score: 7
Total: 77 - Excellent
: That’s a good score!
Of course! You’re my favorite girl from the Yugioh series! Which being a shounen might not sound like much, but still!
: Don’t worry, I know you’re praising me. *suddenly a terrible woman with terrible taste appears*
: I think the narrator isn’t playing fair, but no matter. Zettai! I’ll ruin your birthday!
Ugh, Sarasvati. Isn’t my birthday being Paizuri Day bad enough?
: No! I’ll fill Pixiv with manass, and Danbooru!
Danbooru is already filled with manass…
: And who do you think did that?
You monster!
: I’d use my deck to get rid of her, but it’s in my other clothes.
Curses… Can you use this Pokémon TCG card I happen to have lying around?
: I guess? A card is a card. GUST OF WIND! *turns around and sends Sarasvati flying away with a massive fart*
: You haven’t seen the last of me… *twinkle*
Great work, Aki! That was very sexy!
: No problem. Now let me dig out Time Wizard so I can deage you. Then I’ll put on my racing suit, but you’ll join me in the back, and- *suddenly the blog ends, but what Aki said ended happening*
