### Attack on Titan Episode 10 Response: Battle for Trost District Part 6 Review

Episode 10 of **Attack on Titan** delivers a mix of tension and character development, although it doesn't quite reach the heights of previous episodes. As the battle for Trost continues, we witness the fallout from Eren's shocking transformation into a Titan, which leaves both the characters and viewers reeling.

The episode begins with the chaos of the battlefield as a soldier is overwhelmed with fear, wanting to quit, while Marco attempts to calm him down. This tense atmosphere is punctuated by the sound of cannon fire, drawing the attention of Reiner, Bertolt, Annie, and Jean, who arrive to see the barely formed body of Eren's Titan. Eren emerges from the Titan's neck, dazed and speaking about the key, basement, and his father with Mikasa and Armin. The trio is at a crossroads, with Eren wanting to escape to the basement to uncover answers, Mikasa naturally wanting to accompany him, and Armin feeling unsure of what to do next.

Eren, recognizing Armin's potential, urges him to convince the soldiers that he can use his Titan powers to fight for humanity. Armin, despite his self-doubt, steps up to the challenge and passionately argues that Eren's abilities can be a game-changer. However, Commander Kitz Verman remains terrified and unwilling to listen, showing a lack of leadership that frustrates both the characters and the audience. Just as things seem dire, Commander Pixis arrives, stopping Verman from firing the cannon again.

Pixis is introduced as the chief executive in charge of all southern territories, including Trost, with authority over defense. While eccentric, Pixis exudes a calm and strategic demeanor that contrasts sharply with Verman's panic. Atop the wall, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin explain their situation to Pixis, including the importance of the basement. Pixis assures Eren's safety and asks Armin to devise a plan for utilizing Eren's Titan power. Armin suggests using Eren to move a massive boulder to block the hole in the wall, a plan that Pixis finds intriguing.

Despite his uncertainty, Eren agrees to the plan, showcasing his willingness to fight for humanity's survival. This moment of determination is one of the episode's highlights, along with Armin's growing confidence.

While this episode provides crucial character moments and sets the stage for future events, it lacks the intensity and pacing that have characterized the series thus far. Verman's incompetence as a commander is frustrating, and while Pixis is a welcome addition, his eccentricity may seem odd to some viewers. Ultimately, Episode 10 is a decent installment, notable for Armin stepping up and the introduction of a plan to seal the breach. However, it falls short compared to previous episodes. I give it a 3 out of 5. Despite its slower pace, the episode still offers valuable development and promises more action to come.
