Bye Bye, Earth

This show is wacky and inconsistent, but for what amounts to a pseudo-isekai it's refreshing. You are dropping into most shows episode 3-4, skipping any true origin story and lore buildup. You walk through the world through the perspective of someone who knows what's going on, while you are bumbling around trying to pick up any pieces given. And it's fun! Why is this town divided into good and evil? How does the magic work? Why is battle set up like an orchestra? A tree god and a 2 headed translator? I have no clue, and that's okay!

There are hundreds of anime that will give ... you a "standard" progression of origin story and plot development while progressively explaining the lore as it goes along. Which if that's what you watch anime for great! But if you want to watch an episode and scratch your head trying to pin down the lore, why things happen, and then finally shrug and watch the next episode, I think you'll have fun with this one.

Is the story unique? If it was predictable, did you enjoy it anyway because you like this genre/set-up?
The story is Unique because it doesn't know where it's going.

Do you think the art style is fitting for the story?
Art style is typical, nothing looks invested or special in any kind. I was willing to look that over if the narrative itself was captivating but again, there is nothing special I would say about the animation or even its combat.

Were the characters well-rounded? Did they have flaws and strengths, or were they solid/smart/stupid?
*sigh* without spoiling it, there is a debuff that's unneeded, and ... doesn't even contribute to the actual story, it's just there because it makes a nothing character "needed" for the plot.

Do you think others will enjoy/dislike this series, even if you didn't? Why?
This might be my first and last comment for an anime because I don't want anyone to waste their time on this. At the same time, it's not for those who wish to action with good storytelling. There are other better anime in this season to watch. When I saw the trailer, the animation was- okay but something about a herone with a large sword drew me in. But of course, the story itself wasn't that "large" itself.

Please please watch it, I don't want this company to lose viewers because of me. But if you don't have time like I don't and need art to watch. Find something else.

The art style is OK; neither exciting nor ugly. The audio (voice acting, music) is OK, I guess? And while the premise of the main character being a human in a world full of non-humans isn't exactly new, it isn't bad either.

What makes me review this series as bad is none of those things. It's that it's pretentious. It tries too hard to be unique, with a world-building that looks like mashing random elements together, and yet it doesn't give you, the viewer, the exposure necessary to connect those elements into a coherent whole.

As a result, you're left completely clueless and asking yourself ... "what exactly am I watching?". And that feeling remains after one, two, five episodes.
