@YummyLunches Oh yes, I totally did, didn't I? I'm trying to restrain myself these days. The recommendation machine can get disturbing, I fear.

As for the big series, I can't speak for you, but I'm surely getting greedier over time. And there are lots of big series, but about half of them got their serialization relatively recently, so they have yet to become actually big. Just today, I found another one of those, yet another villainess epigone, which I dubbed "wataoshi, but she's a gyaru now." Maybe it would be better if they just called series like that in this fashion. It's poised to be more or less big, I think.

But generally, it seems that the yuri fandom got bigger over the years, so there are more extended works. But it also may be my delusion since I actively look for yuri I haven't read yet all the time.

@JennyAysgarth Hmm, you did bring it up during your recommendation machine mode. And yes, the way they ended it really resonated with me too.

But yeah, does anyone have this feeling like there's just so many *big* series waiting to be explored that you don't know what to get into and in what order? I don't think I've had too much of this kind of feeling with regards to yuri in the past, but now I'm kinda feeling it. Maybe there's just much more long running series these days, or maybe I'm more greedy now?

@YummyLunches Oh, I absolutely loved this one. I remember reading it long ago, but it was not fully released by then, so I had to re-read it later. With a deceptively simple and silly premise, I so did not expect it to become something like that. The final volumes often had me in tears, and the ending was absolutely beautiful. This manga somehow managed to put together ecchi, fluff, comedy, class S, drama, tragedy, and a lot of romance. I'm glad you loved it (as if I had anything to do with it, though)

So I finished reading Kyuuketsuki-chan_x_Kouhai-chan. It was really romantic towards the end, including the "sleeping beauty" part. I also liked a lot of the flirting, and also the thigh action. I think I caught a bit of it years ago but never finished it somehow, but now I'm happy that I did.

@YummyLunches oh gods, yes. It was right there. And they were both literate enough to understand ever single speck of meaning behind it. But, you know, there was this thing that ensured that it would not last. As I said, it took my breath away. It was a few years ago, but I think I actually had to go outside and have a little walk so that I could accept it

@JennyAysgarth Oh yeah I think some parts really could be described as almost haunting. About the "moon" moment, it was like the characters involved were really resonating and also kinda missing their chance, I was like ueeee. There was much tightness in the chest so I had to sit for a moment.

@YummyLunches I'm glad you liked it. Now that you've read the entire story, I may finally say that, quite weirdly, this whole thing may be seen as the embodiment of the essence of yuri. That "moon" moment really took my breath away. It was so beautiful and painful.

It was the manga that taught me about those "moon" moments that I had tended to overlook before. But really, the gentleness and subtlety of the narrative are almost haunting. At least to me

So I finished reading Himawari-san. Throughout, it was a bit sad, a bit heartwarming, and always very cute. I enjoyed looking at all of the characters' expressions, and watching the main cast grow, because of how smile-inducing they were. Towards the end I think the "go for it" moment and the "given name" moments were pretty impactful. "The moon" moment was also used super well. I think it was said that this was originally supposed to be only two volumes, but reading it through all the way, it felt very fleshed out and satisfying.
