Cute story. Great service. Memorable characters.

The characters are very well-rounded in many ways. With every character filling a certain archetype.
The characters react to their newfound dilemma in a realistic and charming way, with a lot of comedy ensuing.
The story is unique and adorable. Very fitting for the genre and audience its aiming for. Enjoyable ecchi story.

It will be a fantastic experience if you are the target audience, if this is not your thing, then it might not be.

Listen boys and girls, we all know why we're here. Synecdoche with the original manga appealed to a very specific audience and the anime does nothing to change that (In fact the girls are even bigger here!). If Ecchi with very little to no story isn't for you, then you're gonna hate this anime for sure.

As someone who's read the original manga, this is a rather faithful adaptation. All of the story beats are applied here in a 12 minute format, and even has a few extra scenes to pad it out a bit. Since it is a rather storyless manga, I didn't come in ... expecting a full on 24 minute series that expands on the background of characters. However for some, I can see this being a turn off because it could give some much needed context to make you care more about it's universe.

Unfortunately as a few people here has said, the anime's biggest issue is it's animation quality. Some shots look very off (The dopey looking rotoscope dancing the characters do at the intro is the most notable example), and when some characters move it's a very stiff back and forth motion. It's very obviously a low budget anime, which is fine, but when you compare the detail of the original manga and switch over to this, then it's jarring. The music is also very generic as well

You can likely guess my reaction to seeing this anime chance upon my screen one-day while scrolling this season's currently airing. This anime targets a single extremely niche demographic.

Adapted from a manga dating from 2016, the source material ran for 8 volumes and is completed. The execution of this adaptation is far from satisfying. It seems ridiculous to compare how good the anime and the manga are because they are simply two different mediums and therefore criticisms do not carry over well. However, one thing that can be said for certain is that the artstyle, and animation are extremely lackluster.

Another pet-peeve of mine is ... unfaithful renditions; in the manga the characters could be described as 'chubby' - perhaps not to a native viewer - but for a western audience this holds true. In the anime on the other hand, characters are literally obese. This makes the show become fetish content and pushes away more orthodox viewers, this renders any sort of attempt at trying to sell itself to a larger market absolutely useless.

I personally find distaste in the fact that there is an entire scene in which the elf girl strips her top, this is not in the manga. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more scenes that completely ignore the source material. This changes the genre to basically what you can call a h**tai. I am all for 'gratuitous fanservice' but it feels like it was included simply because the studio could do it, and based on its track record of a singular 4 minute preview for a manga, was literally all of their experience.

Being honest, the only saving grace of this anime is that it is 11-12 minutes long per episode. Perhaps if another studio picked it up, the show may have seen more success. Even under those circumstances I highly doubt that it would be enjoyable to most viewers.

Overrall, the show isn't trying to achieve anything, not that it needs to. This anime is really only here to satisfy a singular audience and achieves it, granted that they can bear the slideshow of poorly drawn frames and the beyond awful animation. This was a hot pile of steaming garbage doomed to fail the moment studio Elilas announced its adaptation. If anything, an unfaithful one, and a highly disappointing one.
