Any love for any serious anime movies that aren't connected to any series, or 2-6 episode ovas from the 90's and 00's?

Serious as in it's not something that's not a comedy. Having some humor is fine, but I usually just find anime where the focus is comedy abrasive.

Also, please don't recommend something cringey. If someone else does, please call them out.

Here's a few of my faves:

Battle Angel Alita(by series I mean anime, ovas for a manga are fine.)
Gunsmith Cats
R.O.D - Read or Die
Armitage III
The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor

Princess Mononoke(although I don't really dig Ghibli)
Armitage III: Dual-Matrix
Armitage III: Poly-Matrix
Vampire Hunter D (2000)
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind(although I don't really dig Ghibli)

Grave of the Fireflies(although I don't really dig Ghibli)
Ringing Bell
Wolf Children
Mechanical Arms
