The Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata (The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic) stage at the Otakon 2024 convention announced a second season for the television anime on Saturday.

The 13-episode anime series, produced by Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation, adapted Kurokata's action fantasy light novel in Winter 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the anime with subtitles and an English dub.

Kurokata began penning the action fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in March 2014. Kadokawa began publishing the title under its MF Books imprint featuring illustrations by KeG in March 2016 and released the 12th and final volume in March 2020.

Kurokata launched the Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata Returns (The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic Returns) sequel light novel in December 2023. The second volume went on sale on March 24. The light novel has a cumulative 3.25 million copies in circulation.

Reki Kugayama began serializing a manga adaptation in Comp Ace in April 2017. Kadokawa shipped the 14th volume on March 26.

One Peace Book licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in English in March 2022. The fourth novel volume and the seventh manga volume went on sale on May 7 and June 11, respectively.

Is it really worth of watching? I thought it was a regular isekai, but the rating for the first season is quite high.

@MegamiRem I was interested in the significant oneesan character, but otherwise I didn't know if it would be anything interesting.

@MegamiRem Oh, they were even able to give her Motoko's VA, right? I'll try it when I have time, anyway.

Welp, the adapation was not the best in some parts (powers aren't explained at all), and the slideshow in the last episode was a clear "this will not get season 2 so we will randomly spoil some stuff from next arc" flag.

I am surprised...a lot.

Well, I hope the production value increases because next arc is one of the best arcs and S1 leaving off just before it was such a pity.

Nice. This is one of the better generic isekai out there. Hopefully we'll see more of Frelm.

Apologies but could you explain what you mean? the powers seemed to make sense to me, so I was wondering what you were confused about. (sorry after reading your comment again it seems you read the manga and do know the powers but didnt see them explained, so lemme rephrase what i said:)

@Yubisoft Nah, the next two arcs are pretty uneven (though best girl will be introduced in the second one) and the story goes downhill afterwards

nice, wasn't sure this was going to happen but glad to hear it, it's one of the better isekais out there (not that that says much, but still), hopefully it's the same staff, they did solid work.

Wow. I'm surprised, I didn't know if this would see a continuation or not. The (original) source is finished which is nice but Rose's VA is on the older side, so I wonder if they will be able to do a full adaptation.

This was one of the shows in my giant list of shows needing a continuation. The anime gods heard my pleas, I can't complain any more. Very excited!!! I quite enjoyed S1.

The first season wasn't bad for a basically by-the-numbers isekai, but I felt the adaptation was padded out; like there was enough material in the first light novel for 8 or 9 episodes, but not enough room in a single cour series to properly tackle the second volume. Honestly, I feel the season would have been stronger if it was only 10 episodes (9 for the story, and then pad out the length with a fanservice episode; although I admit the lack of a fanservice episode was refreshing).

Hopefully season 2 gets these sorts of pacing issues figured out, because other than that complaint above, this wasn't a bad series.

@GUIRONK

The way healing magic works isn't really explained, like how some people are better at healing others but not themselves, the color of their magic, etc
The anime just said something about it once, and that's it.
Also, the whole fight vs the black knight got pretty much gutted in the anime, it is not really explained what MC did, the only thing they said is that healing magic is the black knight armor's weakness without explaining anything (someone may think that the healing magic itself interferes with the black slime of the armor, which isn't the case at all)
Some of these things will be relevant when MC trains his power further, and will also will be used in fights later on. Cutting it out without explaining will leave some people out clueless.

Usually isekai are very info dump-y, often to the point of being annoying. And this LN/Manga weren't the exception. It was not annoying in this case, but there were some info dumped here and there. The anime surprisingly decided to pull a reverse card on isekai tropes and cut out most info dump from the adaptation. Not the best move imo.

Anyway, to get what I'm saying, try rewatching the fight of MC vs Black Knight, then read chapter 11 of the manga and see the difference.

@Yui_Suzumiya69 not only it wasn't, but 30 second slideshows in the last ep are usually a sign of "here we spoil ya a bit cuz tis ain't gettin a sequel"
bruh
