THE fight we've all been waiting for...

Garaki sees the reduced number of guards and inquires if the big day has finally arrived. He mentions to the lone officer that in preparation for this day, they had sought out the twisted raw material born into the world, the warped seeds deemed worthy of becoming vessels. Eleven years ago, Dabi was engulfed in flames, consumed by the thought of not wanting to die and his unfulfilled desire to prove himself to his father. In a desperate attempt to extinguish the flames, he frantically jumped into a lake. In the present, Garaki reflects on how Dabi, born with his own internal cracks, was once known as "the boy born with everything." Dabi awakens to find himself alive in a nursery, surrounded by several children who are surprised to see him awake.

A lot of people mock Dabi for his "dAddy issues" jokes but fail to understand and grasp how desperately he just wanted to be loved and to feel worthy. But anywho, damn what a fucking episode this was. I thought at first this season to be another eh season like season four or five, especially with the movie consuming all the resources, but this episode blew me away. I know Bones has a bias towards Dabi, but this was on a whole new level. Honestly, I’d say this is one of the top 10, if not top 5, fights in the entire series. One hell of a episode. Do think that the way he defeated Dabi was kinda stupid, with fire that "doesn't burn", but yeah whatever. Flashbacks aside, fight was fire.

After so long... Dabi's finally down for the count.

The family drama which seems to be going on for ages with no conclusion in near sight might try to convince you, it’d be over for good this time around, but no, IT WILL NOT. Dabi flashbacks, Endeavour being an abusive parent, tears coming out of eyes, “I’ll avenge my abuse”... yeah the same stock template. Not sure what these people are even expecting out of us at this point, but this sappy backstory just ain’t it.

Also, dude literally visited his own house and paid respects to mourn his own death… that’s hilarious to say the least. Dabi did look cool with his new look, and when he wrecked Todoroki, but that’s just it. Bones could’ve put a bit more effort to make that fight look good enough… visually, but that’s a norm here too. Animation nosedives the more you go further, so yeah. Anyway, Dabi thing is done for the time being.

Emotional manipulation a little too obvious at this point, and is getting dragged out more and more. And somehow pretty much everything all smudged and grainy from beginning to end, like image quality is just crap. Not the most fortunate usage of effects.

The rematch of the Todoroki brothers, as young Dabi comes to the realization that he was born different than Endeavor and Shoto, as Dr. Garaki had surmised him being a salvageable failure that proves a lot fatal for the League of Villains, something that All For One enticed him to be part of the family, but that even he too is deemed an outcast for the damage that he insured from young. Still, this is revenge for all the hatred of trying to live up to Endeavor's expectations, and Dabi is ready to burn everything that he doesn't hold dear, especially not towards his own family who abandoned him leaving him wanting to be loved, even as the fire within him burns to an insane degree.

This is Shoto's battle against his "Daddy issues" deranged brother, and no one other than him can stop the rage of the half-brother that he always looked up to, with both different Flashfire Fists being the immaculation of each of their burning hearts and what they're fighting for. Dabi's hot heat against Shoto's cold heat, this is the latter at his finest, dealing the death blow to the former to seal their eventual fate of the fight against good and evil.

Bones is going full ham on the fights, which is great to see. And the match of the brothers is easily one of the top MHA fights of all time.

Another episode with a lot of flashbacks 😑. The fight could've been longer. The motives of all the main villains in this show stems from a shit reason like "my dad beat me", Making it impossible to give a damn about their story.

What an incredible episode man, the fight between the Todoroki brothers, man every time Dabi talks it's a lesson in how you understand what he does and why even if you don't agree and it was cool to see his past after the accident and how he grew increasing his flames and his hatred and on the other side Shoto, the brother who always denied fire but now used it to increase his ice using a fist of fire but based on ice, a guy who fights incredible and what a season he is presenting himself to. criticized Friday today you need to shut up because they are killing it. The best ep of the week so far.

I've never cared much of anything for Dabi so honestly majority of this episode didn't do anything for me. I read this stuff as the chapters were coming out too so this isn't all new for me either, I've felt this way about Dabi for a long time. Even after learning his sad backstory I can never look past all the innocent people he's killed. He chose to kill those people of his own volition yet I'm supposed to feel bad for him?!?! Yeah not in this lifetime. I honestly don't care what's happened in someone's past it doesn't give the right to take that out on people that had nothing to do with anything. Its pretty weak minded of Dabi to do things like that. If he really wanted revenge he would've gone straight at Endeavor not after innocent people. Its that simple to me. Plus we know that Endeavor tried to get Dabi to stop training with his fire but Dabi wouldn't, he was only a kid but still its not like Endeavor forced his son up to that mountain to burn and burn. Both his parents told him he could stop any time. I just don't have sympathy for the guy, not at all. The parts of this episode focusing on Shoto and his mindset were much better for me. Shoto is an actual character who's trying to grow and improve, not a rabid dog that's attacking anyone it sees in all directions. Shoto has made great efforts to improve the relationship of his family and with his friends. His development is one of the best in the series, so it's only natural he would put himself against the wild animal that is Dabi. Shoto learning that new move just to stop Dabi was awesome! Little brother just showed big bro what's up.

A few minutes of plot progression for a bunch of flashbacks of stuff the viewer already basically knows or information that could've/should've been conveyed in earlier episodes and seasons. The show ruins any dramatic impact and pacing with these digressions.

I was waiting for this episode for forever
It's here and it's amazing
I agree with the people that there's not much fight and just emotional story
Well what have you guys been watching for 3 season? This is mha
More talk than fighting, Naruto has better fight just as a fan u know
I didn't like the dabi moment turned into vengeance when it was a young boy running home to dad cause he was scared and sorry
His running panel totally left out by the studio
I'm surprised they ended the fight in 1 episode
The actors had a interview before the episode aired
Shotos FFF had so much dialogue that the punch wasn't animated with enough impact of a hit as much as dabis and endeavors was
Next episode is crazy with some revelations
Some crying maybe who knows
But fan favourite B characters will take the fight that good for them

Pretty good episode, this fight was done pretty well. I'm not going to fault them for the flashbacks interspersed throughout the fight because that's 1:1 how it was in the manga. If anything, blame that on Horikoshi not the animators doing their jobs.

Shoto's moves are always a treat to see animated and the new moves he showed off here were no exception. I thought we'd see a spike in the animation quality this episode but it looked like the pretty standard stuff that we usually see. Was kind of hoping they'd show Shoto a little more love there.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Don’t think we really needed more backstory on Dabi but it is cool to see it all with more details, that Sun teacher guy would make me lose my mind too lol. My biggest fear was the backstory cutting off the end of the fight for a cliffhanger but that thankfully didn’t happen, we got to see it all in its flaming glory and boy did it look awesome, had to rewind a few scenes to witness it again, and not only for the animation but for the voice acting, because they killed it too. It’s a shame Burnin and those other two guys didn’t get to do much but taking a hit for Todoroki was exactly what he needed to get the final blow on Dabi, and it’s finally done, Dabi is no more, at least I’m really hoping so lol, I like his character and his story but I’m ready to see each league member beaten for good.

And looks like next time we have the battle with All For One to look forward to, I’m excited to see how wild that one is.

I am happy that Shoto won the battle but he's also lost the war because Dabi is still his older brother, despite him doing all those bad deeds. If he could at least knock some sense into him, that would be really heartwarming to see...

More backstory explaining what happened to Dabi/Toya. I feel bad for him. Endeavour was a terrible father.

Shoto's fight with Dabi wasn't as long as I hoped but it was still pretty good. I wonder if he's dead for good. Unlikely. The way he was burning so much that he lost almost all of his skin was badass tho.

They hyped up a Todoroki fight and they did not disappoint.

This is why Shoto is my favorite character in MHA. Both Shoto and Dabi as characters are written so well. The whole Todoroki family arcs are the best part of MHA.
Even with all the flashbacks and dialogue, they put in enough to still make it hype AF. The voice acting and fight animation were amazing.

The best MHA episode I've seen in a while.

Great episode to see what became of Dabi after the accident. It seems like he was basically in a comma while his body was being rebuit and in his obsession with his dad he was able ot survive on his own even if it wouldn't seem to be the case. In any case, with his own version of Endeavor's signature move he was sure to win but Shoto had his countermeasure ready for that.

Now that's a lot of ice and a top to one of them. I wonder who's next.

The fight itself was shorter than I thought it would be, hence why the added flashbacks of Toya was needed to make the fight feel longer. Overall, the fight was incredibly tense and how Shoto dealt the final blow was pretty awesome, also thanks to the strong OST choice, too.

Toya's flashbacks of what became of him and what led him to what he had become was interesting and, honestly, needed. His path towards vengeance was so severe and only added in making his personality very warped and chaotic. So it only felt fitting for Shoto to unleash his new skill and, with help from his allies, was able to charge it up enough for him to defeat his brother.

Whether Toya is dead or alive, I'm hoping that the next episode properly confirms that. With this victory here, I hope that Endeavour and Hawks can hold their own against All For One.

Once again I find myself reflecting on how the villain back stories always hit deeper in the manga and I think part of that is because of the art style and how the anime can't be as scruffy looking (for lack of a better way to put it) like the manga can. Naruto had this same translation between mediums problem too

like srsly how many?
The whole episode be like: talking, flashback, talking, flashback, talking, flashback, a bit of fighting, talking, another flashback, talking, flashback, a bit of fighting, flashback, fighting, flashback, fighting....... you get the point!
This is my main issue with MHA I love the story and characters but they add flashbacks every single damn episode man!
The only saving grace of this episode was that i wont have to see Dabi's face again, I mean he's a great villain but his arc's been going on for very long and I'm glad it's over.

Assuming this is the last fight Dabi will be involved in, then it could've been more exciting.

The story being told is very good though. Dabi had a terrible childhood, but he ultimately bears sole responsibility for all his atrocities.

Things aren't always black & white though, as his family should take some of the blame - in my opinion.

I think Endeavour should've been part of the fight itself, but what we got works too. Hopefully we'll get a proper conclusion to this story.

Why would I spend my time watching shows I don't like? 💢
