Well, I have to say that this show does indeed have a variety of races. The dwarves for instance made their presence.

The dream of trying to unite demons and humans to co-exist in their world doesn't seem too farfetched of an idea even if it seemed impossible at first. And hey, we're seeing how far characters go to fufill their goals too such as dealing with the king of the dwarves. Gotta say, Ike has people skills and tries to use words rather than violence to get characters to join his cause.

The pursuit of Ike to grow Ivalias into a city of human and demon co-existence, it only spites more war.

Jiron coming to inform Ike of the movement of the Alliance of Kings, it seems that he has anticipated their arrival on his city soon, and if their defense if not strong, the city and neighbouring Demon Lord cities will fall. They do have an ally: the Dwarf King Gunther, who has been captured by the Ismuth Kingdom after the defeat to the humans. His son Batson and the rest of the tribe having to be slaves under the order of the humans, Lilith and Jiron has to go save him for Ike's sake, even if the old geezer means trouble.

The army of humans that both Lilith and Jiron has to face whilst saving Gunther, the order not to kill may be there, but detection is hard enough that Ike has to step in and cover for them. The dealings thereafter with Ike wanting him to help create firearms in exchange for re-establishing the Dwarven Kingdom with the saving of his people, Gunther gets roped into Ike's ambition for a peaceful, co-existing world.

Ivalias's force of 500 vs. Ismuth's 12 battalions of 12,000 men in total, it's gonna be a bloodbath, so how will firearms help the demons out?

They can' think of any other solutions, other than lethal force (and mass destruction but out of question for Ike's goals)
It's sad, but honestly somewhat accurate.
The real question is, will the humans fight the humans too? If they have dwarves and humans with the demons win a battle they numbers wise should absolutely lose, that would be huge.
Demon Lord likely knows if Ike is not present and succeeds in that location, she's screwed.
4/5, sucky sucky succubus. Bullying Mr. Oink :c

Maybe it was just me but the scene with Jiron and Lilith arguing when rescuing the king seemed like it went on for way too long. Not much else to say about the episode imo.

I think that Ike's plan is to arm the people with firearms which would fare better than swords and spears but with magic being a thing in this world I don't see why Cefiro couldn't crush them with some direct hits. On that note I would assume that the humans would also have magic too or at least defenses against it but maybe not against guns? We'll see.

That’s Vice Commander Ike to you! Ike may have turned down the chance to command his own corps, but still got a promotion, gained the demon king’s acceptance as a human and has her blessing for his demon human cohabitation project. PLUS weeded out the known traitor in their ranks. Brilliant bit of strategy tbf

Getting the Dwarf King and dwarves on their side is a big plus for the demons. Now they’ll be able to manufacture the weapons needed to fight off the human invasion without destroying entire countries and swaths of land. Ike already thinking two moves ahead. He knows winning a battle is meaningless if you have to destroy all the land to do it. Festers resentment and makes the rebuild extremely difficult.

As usual in these sort of shows, humans showing themselves to be more monsters than anyone else. Betraying the dwarves, destroying their land and then putting the king in prison.. understandable the king would want nothing to do with them, but seeing his fellow countrymen safe and sound did the trick. Wonder how he’ll react to Ike being human lmao

I could go for an episode of Ike teaching Satie how to read, would be hilarious if she ended up becoming a strong ally for them

Ike continues to strive for his dream of peace between humans and demons, but there are always humans in isekais who don't understand diplomacy. So, a few bullets with the help of the dwarves should make them understand. I hope Ike makes the upcoming confrontation of his 500 troops against 12,000 men something interesting and strategic.

I agree, instead of just showing a short scene of liberating the dwarven king from prison, they dragged it out with ridiculous and unnecessary things and didn't focus on the essentials."

Satie: Can you eat clover?
Ike: It’s for livestock😂

Great idea came from Ike-sama. If he can grow multiple crops without letting the soil to rest, then both humans and demons would have infinite food.

The Dwarf King has been released! Thanks to his people’s help, Ivallis will be the first town where demons and people can live safely together. The damage would not be too critical and they can reconstruct Dwarf Kingdom.

I absolutely love the opening and ending themes, they give me some Frieren vibes:)

@Animillion

even if i I'm not a fan of a series or should i say, didn't watch it, it always baffles me how an anime can do so well commerically and STILL not get a s2

Instead of using powerful skills that he learned, he uses guns... lol
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Pretty weak episode overall. The Jiron and Lilith comedy scenes were unrelentingly painful and unfunny. And Ike continues to give orders that put the demons at an obvious risk just to protect humans. At some point that's gotta be an issue, right? Right?

Lilith and Satie's rivalry was a bit better. Not remotely original I admit, but still amusing.

The dwarves seemed way too trusting of a demon. Wouldn't be suspecting some ulterior motive or high price? That aside, some of the lamest character designs for dwarves ever. They just looked like generic dudes, most of them were as tall as Ike.

The alliance of humans rallying against the demons is interesting, although the solution being... muskets? I dunno, seems kind of anticlimactic in a fantasy setting, but I guess we'll see how it turns out.

@CrazyButNot4U He already explained that it will be harder to repair if they used powerful magic.

@tomarwan I know, that's why I said it. It's interesting.

I am sincerely surprised to still be watching this. It's super bland and the succubus character is so irritating. I also feel sorry for the pig guy. He's irritating too, but not in a selfish way. He's probably just neuro-atypical. Needs to find the right fandom to geek out in.

But I'm still watching for some reason. I guess I just like the theme of making peace between different species?

With each episode that passes I am more interested in the anime, the way the coexistence of humans and demons is developed, and how good the protagonist is. In this episode the dwarves were introduced and the beginning of a fight against other humans, looking forward to the next episode to see how it will be developed

this show is horribly underrated. MC is pretty likeable and his ambition is a nice one.

I love the rivalry between Satie and the succubus chick. It's like showing that humans and demons can get along right there, with a friendly rivalry.

Excited to see how this keeps going

If you need smithing/crafting then to dwarves you go. Now they can mass produce the guns. Even the dwarves didn't see them before so I do wonder how did Ike learn about it and where did Maou got em from.
