The premise of this anime really turned me off, but the execution is pretty charming so far. This will be my second anime in Korean (as opposed to dubbed into Japanese). As with the last one, the music is fantastic. And speaking of music, I can't express how much I love that the protag is a metal fan. Here's hoping the series stays charming. |

I read the Webtoon, so I know what to expect in terms of the story, and I gotta say the pacing so far is quite fast. Also, I can't help but find the cast for VAs kinda unbearable, but maybe it'll grow on me. Other than that, it's pretty okay thus far, it does look good visually. |

I'm not loving the voice acting for now I think. And I've watched the kdrama so I keep expecting the same voices 😅 I like the adaptation so far!
@slayra I didn't like the voice acting for the main character either :( |

Animation is fine, but not liking the pace at all. Literally jumping from one scene to another without any clear plot. Kinda disappointed after watching the kdrama and reading the webtoon ಥ‿ಥ |

@Oishy_14 I think the same. I didn't like the webtoon because the author kept pushing the series with new conflicts just to keep earning more money or something but the drama is one of my favourites (I even started watching kdramas after that lol) and is disappointing how the series is so rushed, and childish? Even the bullying didn't look like a big deal here while Jukyung tried to f**ng jump from a building in the drama series LOL And I liked how they expanded the story of her family members also. |

Somehow this felt almost like it was going to be a Girl's version of Viral Hit for a few moments. LOL |

@AmeKnite Actually, no. There's plenty of Aeni (Korean name for animation) that were also created by Korean studios. But I'd admit that they're mostly missed marks nearly everywhere (story, art, and dubbing specifically) and rarely released, it's hard to find great aeni tbh. Dunno if this correlates to the issues I've said earlier, but animation adaptation were outsourced/created by Japanese and Chinese studios lately. Also oddly, Korean aeni in recent years, they spams BL instead bruh. |

Can't believe they decided to ditch the fundamental parts of the story (heavy bullying/trauma) to make it a pretty people romcom. |

@FutoiOtaku It's called My Hightlight, by Jo Yuri, former member of the legendary girl group IZ*ONE and now soloist :) |

I agree the anime is absolutely worse. I hate the voice acting, although it's cool that it's in Korean and not Japanese. With how rushed it is... ugh. Plus, with both the kdrama and anime, it seems everyone is scared to make Jugyeong a character that isn't conventionally attractive without makeup. Which is what plays into the whole "learning to love yourself" theme, but whatever😭 |

It's been a while since I watched an Aeni, and although the premise isn’t something entirely new, I liked the pacing. I don’t understand what’s going on with the excessive bullying in Korean schools. I know that in Korea, using makeup in schools or among men is very normalized, but I think a large amount of foundation would be noticeable unless the makeup tutorials the protagonist watched were magical and made her look natural. As for the OP and ED, they weren’t too bad, but they gave me the strange feeling of an intro to a pre-teen Disney or Nickelodeon series |

@Moiloru I also found the pacing to be way too fast! Didn’t really allow us to connect with the main girl |

This is some like Disney channel garbage and the voice acting isn't good. The message is terrible too but I guess it makes sense from the plastic surgery capital. |

its very fast paced, which is kinda expected since it's being adapted into an anime, but it's too fast. And they changed some tiny details like the earbud she lost in the store. other than that its a cutesy type of show so far |

I know is different but the drama adaption (aka the live action) is better showing the bullying of the main character. This animated adaption is too fast in my opinion showing the beginning of the story. |

@TheSekiryuutei That's more or less what I expected from the premise, and I almost didn't watch it as a result. Even when I decided to give it a chance, I expected to give up in disgust 5 minutes in, but I didn't. In fact, from the episode I actually got the impression it was going to end up with a different message completely. We'll see, but I'm hoping it won't turn out like you say. |

I found this first episode way too fast! The messages of the K-Drama are completely forgotten and the dubbing is really disastrous. It's a real shame because the animation and the character design are magnificent and the opening and the ending are adorable! |
