This was a terrible match up for Natsu in terms of elements. The Water Dragon God im particular gave Lucy, Natsu, Gray, and Erza a fierce fight. Natsu fought in the most Natsu way possible. He hasn't changed from the previous seasons lol. Still that fiery temper. Ignia is no joke but he has an aura of arrogance about him. |

This episode was fire!! I also liked the animated the bonus chapter in the beginnig of the episode The better Acnologia & Zeref arrived!!! Ignia!! Ignia Dragon Force Natsu mode looked badass! Natsu´s scales looked like the time in Natsu vs Zero fight Natsu can´t change too much if he lost that temper it wouldn´t really be Natsu anymore , the previous episode was just the begining of his character development, I can´t say too much for spoiler reasons |

That was the big battle scene? OMG, the animation was decrepit! Total kid-vid. It's time to bail out on this mess. |

Episode like this make me wish I could watch Fairy Tail everyday instead of every week. Natsu doesn't want to swallow his brother's flame, that's understandable. I'm afraid Gray being left off, he's the only one in the main group who we still don't know where he live. He needs a new big plot other than his father, but sadly this 100-year quest is all about dragons. |

I never cared for the fights of the OG Fairy Tail, I actually thought they were the weakest part of the show, but what the fuck J.C.... this is just a disgrace to even the OG series. Even final, easily one of the worst animated shounen's I've watched in recent memory had better animation than this. I don't think people quite grasp the fact that passable animation ≠ good animation. Sure, by the 100YQ standards, it's "good animation", but as a Fairy Tail episode in general, this is no different from the fights we got in the OG series. Animation aside for a moment though, this was probably the best episode of this series so far. Ignia sounds like an actual interesting character, and seems to be the Acnologia of the 100YQ. I don't really care if his motive is something as stupid as "I WaNt tO GeT YoU StRoNgEr iN OrDeR To fIgHt yOu" thing. It's shounen after all. Nice Nalu moment at the end as well. All in all, fuck J.C. Staff. All my homies HATE J.C. Staff |

Well, the divine fire dragon Ignia appeared, and he is the son of Igneel, I didn't see that one coming. The one who didn't see her coming either was the water dragon god Mercuphobia; Ignia put Natsu well over, and he burned him until he said enough. 😨 |

@IzanaSolos I'm genuinely curious how is the animation is horrible, like what are you even into about? If you called this type of animation "The worst animated" then perhaps you're just hating at this point. The animation on this episode begins with a strong fluid, build up and release explosion effects. and then Natsu's roar with the same animating type. And Natsu vs MERCPHOBIA which was Aoki's sequence was full of perfect build up and release effects with a lot of heavy integrating smears which give the effects more impact, and let's not forget about character acting background animation. |

@filthyfrank8142 2014 and Final series was mostly still frames and very limited animation. the animation are not as fluid and constant thanks to the very limited time they had back then. Most of the Sakuga's are limited and character movement is lacking creativity. Again because of the time they had to animate weekly anime. the difference is quite obvious, mainly because of the difference of the animation direction and story boarding: https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/262973 https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/262968 https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/262967 and many more... @Botther I'm not hating though? Back when Final was coming out everyone, and I mean EVERYONE agreed that they dropped the ball with the animation, even by Fairy Tail's standards, that were never too high to begin with. I don't think you know the first thing about animation clearly because J.C. Staff and the staff clearly do not know what strong fluid is. Watch an actual fight with strong fluid like Saitama v. Geno and come back and still say this had "strong fluid". This build up you also talk about, while is probably the only thing the staff can do is good, the release explosion effects is nothing more than them coloring the manga panel into anime form and just adding some moving explosions here and there. There are NO release explosion effects in this show. Aoki's scene was probably the only good part about the episode, I'll give you that. But even then, this is a heavily nerfed and held back Aoki, considering half the time they were just still images. Go watch the OPM S3 teaser, which he animated the entire thing. I want to end this by clarifying that this by no means a bad animated episode. Just like every other episode in this series, or just J.C. Staff show in general, it's the most safe and OK animated episode. I respect every animator that poured their hearts into this, but it's clear that this studio isn't giving them the time to fully show off their best. |

@filthyfrank8142 Preach brother. Peach. This was never a sakuga show, and it clearly never will be with J.C. being at the helm of all of this. The flames, water, ice, and character designs were at their best in 2014, and that's where this show has peaked. |

Cool episode but honestly I feel like there is too much going on with such a little amount of episodes by now. Dragon gods, dragon eaters, white mage, now Igneels son. All characters thrown together within 5-6 episodes. Lets see how it all unfolds. But currently its a little to much going on and everything happens way too fast. I liked back then when Fairy Tail met another opponent they would battle that one group of opponents for the next 7-8 episodes or so. But now within 5-6 episodes they already battled so many groups and people and it all only lasted so little. Maybe its because this season is supposed to have less episodes. But still, very entertaining until now. |

@filthyfrank8142 Saying that there is no Sakuga in this season is just nonsense or are you trying to say that you know better than Sakuga experts, Perhaps? And there is a difference between Character design and animation which is honestly stupid by you to say. lighting, flames, water and wind is art, and "HOW" they are moving is the animation. If you don't know nothing about this field then please leave it because you are just talking nonsense at this point, It obviously you are just hating and not being based on anything artistically. |

@IzanaSolos Bruh ur "worst animated shounen" is OPM ss1? OPM SS1 has some of the best ppl in the industry how is it fair when u compare to this lmao. Bro ur eyes really need an ambulance 😭, how the fk u not see the explosion effects in this ep ??? The Aoki scence, yes it was the best from this ep but if ur eyes are not blind, there are lots of good sequences from this ep. Staff What do you consider good animation wtf Yeah that guy rly hates JC Staff for the sake of hating it. They made an awesome job with that episode and are overall a good Studio. |

I just want to say that u should not watch anime if u expect animation to be like Opm ss1 or JJk.

@casilo Clearly your eyes are the ones that need an ambulance, because I never said OPM S1 is the "worst animated shounen". I said FT FINAL was the "worst animated shounen" I've seen in recent memory. Not OPM. In terms of scenes other than Aoki's, only one other scene really grabbed my eye, which was this scene where Natsu is levitating and building up his attack. But just like every other attack in this show, the final attack is just a still image lol. And these "explosion effects" your talking about are nothing more than just slowly blinking light to show Mercphobia being beat up. And in your previous post above you said no sequence in OG or 2014 are better than this? Again, I think your eyes are the ones that need an ambulance because this sequence is better than anything 100YQ has put out so far. And I never once did expect animation like OPM or JJK. I knew from the minute J.C. Staff picked this up it was going to be no different from EZ S2, considering it's basically the same staff. I never once considered this show a sakuga show, because the OG series clearly wasn't, why would this be any different. More than anything, I only watch this show because I actually like the plot, characters, and worldbuilding. Animation is the last thing I like from this show. |

@IzanaSolos Ok i agree with u ft final was the "worst animated shounen". But how the fk final season had better animation than 100yq lol. Even just 6 eps in 100YQ it has more animation than entire final season. U seriously ignore this? This is "explosion effects" i am talking about. Nah bro there are better examples than the sequence u give and one sakuga from 100YQ is much better. If u don't consider this is not a sakuga show then don't compare it to a sequence from OPM ss1 lol.And for a show that not have sakuga every eps, this is very good. |

@IzanaSolos It seems like you don't even know what is build up and release effect isn't it? It is considered one of the hardest type of animating styles, especially in storyboarding, and it is even harder at the animation process and is complicated for the In-between team. You forgot Tomioka's Sequence which is rather a very good example of motion effects, especially in explosions and fast movement animating. The episode was rather well animated, the animation was constant and the storyboarding was well well done. It is not the best of course but it is far from being OK and average. |

So happy they brought back the OG theme for this fight. Throwback vibes when that "Dragon Force" (not the band, literally the name of the song) hit. Crazy how he has not actually managed to achieve a point where he can consistently activate it in a pinch like Wendy. Fairy Tail cooking though. |

A1 dickriders in absolute shambles. J.C. Staff pulled off what they couldn't and are deserving all the praise they're currently receiving on social media for this episode. |
