The 2nd of 3 works from the imitation novelist of Kei Sazane for this year: the return of Fall 2020's KimiSen, which I find it to be rather horrible. But thinking back now, I felt that I've given the show a rather harsh negative score, and I'm hoping that Season 2 will change things for the better after 3.5 years.

AliA comes back again for yet another OP since last season's Gods' Game We Play (also written by Kei Sazane), and... I pretty much preferred Kaori Ishihara's Season 1 OP by a LONG stretch.

Diving right into the LN's continuation from Volume 5, it's the affair of the Witch between the Lou Nebulis girls of Alice, Sisbell and Elletear, in wanting Iska to become one's guard, as well as his friends from the 907th Unit, protecting a witch like Mismis, which her situation only can call forth someone like Iska to do the job, if clearly putting Sisbell on the line as an astral mage whom the Empire is clearly after. Alice clearly hasn't given up on thinking about Iska either, after this long.

Sisbell's escort mission as a last resort to stop the war between the Empire and the Nebulis Sovereignity, even Zoa's Masked Lord is no doubt that it'll be a straightforward affair that leads to war. In fact, this is much more of a war between sisters, as they all gather at South Altoria Station for the same mission in their various groups.

This doesn't look all that different from Silver Link's shtick, even with Studio Palette aiding in production. Still, I want to know how deep the bottom of the barrel will Kei Sazane's ONLY anime sequel will go for yet another season.

Kei Sazane's (the creator of the worst anime of the year, God's Game We Play) Kimisen is back after almost four years. After watch GGWP, I have VERY low hopes for this.

Jumping right back into it, I mean this is set the day after the whole fight with that mecha robot thing that wanted best girl Sisbell. I might be wrong, but did they change the designs? They look more... glossy? It's not a downgrade, but it's not an improvement for sure. This show is once again showing my main problem with it, I could care less about the actual plot with the nations or whatever, I only care for the romance between Iska and Alice. This has so much potential as a romcom between those two, and not this generic shitty fantasy plot.

But anywho, best girl Sispell once again showing why she's best girl, over her offering to take Isuka's boss' witch crest thing whatever off so that Isuka become her "knight". Animation has certainly taken a massive step down, even for a first episode jeez. Then Alice over here being her usual tsundere she is... sigh. While you got best girl over here not holding back, over her clinging to Isuka. So lucky. Then we got this annoying prick again with the MaSK. I need this dude killed already please. OP sounds as generic as the last, but it's AliA I'll give it some credi.t AliA carrying this author's work I swear lol.

Really don't know what this season could have in store, just please give me some romcom moments with Isuka and Alice and I'll be fine.

Is it my imagination or is something wrong with the editing pace of the episode? It seems to be edited to be like a trailer and is rather fast paced and has not a lot of narrative through line, we suddenly went from hiring Iska’s team in the neutral state to suddenly in the Sovereignty.

Damn, it's been almost four years, yet it's still nice to see budget Kaguya and budget Hayasaka banter about budget Kaguya trying to deny her feelings. Rin even has the same VA, which makes it even funnier.

I missed hearing Iska kun from Alice/Sora Amamiya. KimiSen finally back after so many delays.

Starting from right where the first season left off. Still not sure whether Elletear is the imposter or not. Heck the queen was the one accused of being the imposter instead but it was on her order. Was wondering why Sisbell didn't leave with Alice and went to ask Iska for help which would only increase/prove the suspicion on her but it's cause she doesn't trust Alice. Kinda sad the situation is like that given how caring Alice is of her. Talking of Alice, she's super bad at lying lol. The maid still as amusing as ever. "I have nothing but admiration, very impressive Alice sama."

And ending the episode with the core of the show. Alice and Iska meeting again, what a coincedence really.

Was really looking forward to this. Took their sweet time with several delays but glad to have it back. Looking forward to upcoming episodes.

well, since i already watched season 1 before this, i can say this episodes improved their animation in color grading and character movements, it's just my opinion.
although i had to agree the story pace is quite fast and spreading everywhere, from Sisbell declaring to Alice that will not give up either throne succession or Iska (she literally did not say it but Alice just said in hunch) to asking Iska and his team to escort them to palace, and i'm quite shocked they do like a preview of season before the episode start, quite new for me.
music background is good to point out, and you might notice towards the end, before Alice met Iska at a stall, a piano background music of Season 1's Opening was played at that time, ah so nostalgic,
and for Season 2 Opening, Senaka Awase by AliA, it had some punch in music, vocalwise is not that bad, but, I am sure most of Season 1 watchers might prefer Season 1 Opening more.
looking forward throughout the season, how the story unfolds.
p/s: it funny when Alice blatantly say she did not know the Empire soldier mentioned by Sisbell in the letter (even though she already said his name) and Rin give that Hayasaka Ai's vibe...

They perfectly preserved the original feel to this anime, the animation and art style improved a lot and it’s looking great now. The story picks up seamlessly, wasting no time in reigniting the electrifying dynamic between Iska and Alice. Their romance is taking the center stage, blossoming amidst the ever-present conflict. The writer masterfully weaved moments of heart-fluttering sweetness with the ongoing struggle for peace.
If you enjoyed season 1, season 2 is a must-watch! It takes everything you loved and elevates it to a whole new level. The action seems more intense, the romance looks sweeter, and the world feels even more immersive. It's a triumphant return for a truly delightful series.
The OP and ED perfectly captures the essence of this season. Season 2 of 'Our Last Crusade' seamlessly transitions from the first season. The first episode does a fantastic job of re-establishing the world and characters, making it a smooth and enjoyable experience. I'm excited to see where the story goes from here!

This season's sure been one thats been long time coming. Loved the new reveal of things to come. As ever royal families and their ambitions show just how scary humans can be when ambitions are concerned. Quite the deal that Sisbell offered them. Still for her not being able to trust anyone must be difficult. Their disguise as students though was perfect. Thats some luck that Alice has in finding Iska. Overall a decent opening ep for the season that featured a good blend of worldbuilding and character reintros. Though i would argue that a brief recap of the events thus far would had been useful.

Finally after 4 years we’re back 😭 man life was so different when this show first aired.. peak pandemic eats. But after Sazane sensei last work, God’s Games we play flopped, I’m glad to have his main work back. We also have one more of his series getting an anime this season “why does nobody remember me in this world” so big season for him coming up.

As for the first ep back of kimisen, man I can’t lie, I don’t really remember any of this stuff and it feels like they threw us right back into things with the 3 royal families, the war between the sovereignty and empire, etc etc. All I really remember is that Alice and Iska had the Romeo and Juliet star crossed lovers thing going on and that her sister was sweet on iska too 💀 . A recap episode definitely would’ve been nice.

Pacing just feels very fast, but I did enjoy seeing all the characters back, especially sisbel whose determination to not give up the throne or Iska to her sister was cute. Alice being all flustered in bed wondering what Sisbel and Iska were up to was also good. This man’s harem is expanding by the day. And it’s fitting the episode ends on a chance encounter between Alice and Iska just like s1.

Hopefully next episode’s editing is a bit better and they take it slower. Had to pause and rewind several times to understand everything with the imposter and royal families.

I miss SilverLink’s style for sure but if the banger of an OP is any indication, the fights this season should be awesome.

Objectively speaking, this anime is trashy harem with the girls fighting over Isuka and there were multiple booba shots but the last scene of Isuka and Alice ordering the same thing at the same time and turning to each other put a smile on my face reminding me of the first season.

Really happy to have this back. I had actually completely forgotten this was even getting a sequel even though I loved the first one so much. Really like the world in general. I should probably start reading the novels. I doubt it'll get a season 3 since even second seasons are so rare these days for longer novel adaptations, so I'll probably start the novels after this season ends.

Another 2020 anime returns this season, and it’s another I had to rewatch beforehand because no way was I remembering where we left off lol, but it was a fun and nostalgic rewatch which, just like Tower of God, left me liking it more than my original watch in Fall 2020, and a big part of that was knowing this sequel was coming. And wow I’m liking the new coat of paint it has, meaning the art style lol, I thought I wouldn’t like it at first but it grew on me really fast and I think it even looks better than the first season, very nice OP too, don’t think I like it as much as the first season’s OP but it is good and we did at least get to hear an instrumental version of “Against” during the last bit of the episode, going for those nostalgia points I see lol.

And wow they really just dropped us right where we left off, now I’m really glad I did that rewatch lol, folks that didn’t must be in a rough spot. And I was wondering how Sisbell would become a love rival of Alice’s giving the conflict going on, well blackmailing Iska and his crew into being her bodyguards is one way to do it lol. And speaking of Iska and his crew, very nice to see them all again in this new style, as well as my beloved Rin and of course Alice, and they sure went hard on the fanservice right here at the start but the first season had plenty of stark naked goodness as well so I’m not against it. And ending the episode on Iska and Alice having yet another perfect sync moment was a great decision, now it really feels like we’re back, I’m really hoping this season has plenty more moments between these two to come!

I honestly do not remember much from the first season, but I definitely remember enjoying this show. I did start to remember things as the episode went on, but it's good to have Iska and Alice back.

I was worried Iska and Alice isn't gonna meet again this episode, but I'm stupid to be worrying, even if I don't want to they'll meet up lmao.

Ok episode reentroducing the main characters and starting the plot but seems a bit hasty. The design and animation (looks like a 25 fps game) downgrade hurts a bit ngl.

I'm happy that season two is finally here; however, I was a bit taken aback by two things though: the pacing and the music. Firstly, the episode seemed much too quick for its runtime. If they gave the frames and scenes a few more seconds to 'breath', then I think it would give the audience more time to process and appreciate what is happening. Secondly, the music was very intense at certain parts of the episode which caused some dialogue to be drowned out by the violins going ballistic – the music sounded fine though, just knock a few decibels off. Aside: While I preferred the previous art style, as it felt more appropriate for this story's subject matter, I also like the new art style. This studio made some other anime not too long ago...which I never got around to watching...but aesthetically speaking, I thought colour palette and general animation direction looked nice. Wrapping up this tangent, I am looking forward to watching the rest of the show. What I surmise happened during the production of this episode is that they had determined some story benchmark that they needed to achieve within the given episode count, and that's exactly what they did; therefore, hopefully, the next few episodes will feel less hectic.

It's the opposite. Silver Link is helping but not sure with which part considering that most of the staff working on this season is from Studio Palette.

I’m glad this is back, don’t get me wrong.

But is anyone else disappointed in the art / animation change?

I noticed the different eyes right away.

I liked that aqua color the captain’s crest had in the first season, not its gold.

I know they change studios for different seasons, but come on, try to give us something similar.

Not as bad as season 4 of DxD but I still am sad.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

A proper recap would've been fine after so long, but sprinkling in the world politics does help the plot run.
Elletear vs Queen kinda tense & smug. Sawashiro voicing quite good.
Nene looks like Crunchyroll chan.
Jhin's hair way more detailed.
Nice the fashion designs return, & backgrounds. Alway nice when characters have more than one outfit the whole show.
Animation still fine. Just all the eyes completely changed from s1 takes getting used to, now like rinnegan.
lol Alice going full tsundere. Sisbell that cute letter.
cool OP
S1 had some plot & pacing issues, seems s2 pacing off to a good start.
