Didn't watch the manga, came in without any expectation.
Pretty good, better that expected, specially for an anime made in full CGI, but this is good CGI, movie level like the ones from Kimetsu no Yaiba
Story wise the setting is just like Mashle but in a serious adventurous tone, instead of the just for LOL parody as it was shown in Mashle.
Strength vs. Magic, MC has no magic but is a super warrior type. Magic academy folks looks down on MC because of his inept magic, then they can't stomach the thought that MC while being magic less, is more powerful than their magic by pure strength alone.

| I remember seeing the trailer and thought the animation looked pretty good which was why I bothered giving it a shot in the first place, and man, did this episode deliver. Something something generic plot something something generic MC, I do not care, they spoiled us with these visuals. If the rest of the season can hold this up, then damn this will be a banger. |

| This premiere shows how far the production quality can take an anime from seasonal junk to a seasonal gem (thanks to Tatsuya Yoshihara, who worked on Chainsaw Man), and while I'm not sold on the premise at all since this type of story is a dime a dozen, but at the same time, there is always room for a surprise. It reminded me of Mashle, especially with its main character not being able to use magic, but having strong physical capabilities. Not something I'm particularly going to look forward to every week, but hopefully that sentiment can change as we move along. |

| A pleasant surprise. I've anticipated a number of anime this season but didn't expect this one to be the most engaging. This is basically more or less the level of cinematographic quality that i want from Action anime or anime in general. Looking forward to the next episode. |

| The art, animation, sound, and music were well done. Sadly, this first episode had a predictable storyline. From almost the beginning, I could tell that this awkward bumbling weak looking non-magical student would have to save his bully, showing all his natural talent and skill in battle against a powerful foe, but that bully wouldn't even appreciate what he did and even hate him more. The way this story felt, was like the anime ... "Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru" Reign of the Seven Spellblades ... which started off good, but soon lost its focus with unexplained background stories and other off topic side stories, that made the entire show confusing and cluttered, completely removed from it's original start. I hope this anime does not end up like that and keeps it's focus on what the title and even this first episode set up. |
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |
| Wow, unsurprisingly generic. Does nobody at Japan knows how to write good stories any more, or why is that 80% of the anime produced every season sucks so badly in this department? Worse if such anime is fantasy. Good animation tho. |
| Absolutely GEORGOUS animation with such fluidity and style that it draws your attention to every aspect of the scene. I really hope they continue that throughout the season because if the animation quality stays the same I could see this being a 10/10. The characters are diverse, the styles are interesting, and the fights are KILLER QUALITY! |

| So, a really generic story and MC held together but an amazing production. Hope the story gets better as it goes on because judging from the first episode I can think a good deal of anime that deserved this level of production. |
| This not-Harry-Potter anime sure had quite a big budget put into it, huh. Like they had movie-level money to spend. Almost every frame could be its own desktop wallpaper or landscape painting. It's amazing how such a generic story can be improved by beautiful animation, action, and music. But then again, it's usually hit or miss...Solo Leveling comes to mind. Welp...looks like both of the red-head's lackeys are goners. I wonder why they decided the official English name to be "Wistoria - Wand and Sword" when clearly we can see "Wistoria's Wand and Sword" on the logo of the episode itself. Should have just left it as it is...but then again, arrogant English localizers always think they know better and feel the need to make unnecessary changes...like changing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to Sorcerer's Stone. Edit: Looking at some of the names and official spellings are also all over the place. Like Workner vs Wagner, Ignor Lindor vs Wignall Lindor...there's no consistency whatsoever. |

| danmachi rebooted! the character acting and the end of ep fight were so good, gave me goosebumps fr. oomori x yoshihara and co, istg it will be a sleeper hit with its great animation, direction, ost and good plot. the charadesigns and color design also look so good, hope it stays consistent all throughout!!!   |
| Looks great, but the clichés man... The weakest at X MC is strongest (OP) at Y. He also happens to be bullied for being weak but ends up saving the bully after they shit their pants and fail miserably. And, it seems the ungrateful bully will now hate the MC even more for "humiliating" him by saving his sorry ass. I think I've seen this too many times. Wonder if the henchmen died, or does this anime go soft and they ended up "hurt and healed"? Cringe supremacist and bully teacher is cringe too. P.S not hating, just complaining. |

| You can tell the animation studio put a lot of care into the visuals but the plot itself.....idk....I don't feel anything that will super wow me yet... Reminds me too much of Mashle (the whole non-magic in magic school thing) with a bit of Harry Potter (Oh hi Draco...what your name is Sion? And honestly, I can't UNSEE Harry in Will even when I try to deny it) I guess will need to see a bit more to get a better picture (no pun intended) |
