Time for Belle to prove herself.

Belle has an audience with King Rawhide and is ordered to duel with one of the Four Great Swordsmen. However, Belle's method of shattering his opponent's sword, a weapon as vital as a limb to a swordsman, angers the spectators. Despite this, the king acknowledges Belle and instructs her to await three missions necessary to become a Nomad. The first mission she receives is to protect the city's people from an attack by the evil swordsmen led by Jinbuck. Belle then realizes that the targeted location is the town where her adoptive parents live.

You know, up til now I found these stupid background characters just annoying and racist, but this time, it was pretty warranted I'm ngl. Granted, the swordsmen dude only really cared for his sword getting cut in half for legit less than five seconds, but these annoying background characters over here acting like it was their sword getting broke and shouting about "tHe hAmMeR Of fEaR' .... That aside, nice to see that there are some people out in this world that aren't blatantly racist for no reason, that being Belle's parents. And looks like our little rabbit furry is gonna be joining the party.

Rabbit got the necklace back for Belle, thankfully. That's another person that isn't racist to Belle added to the team.

@IzanaSolos Belle taking all the hate and laughing in their face was pretty hardcore. I think she'll be all right on that score.

If not for the amazing music I would have dropped it this episode. But well the music is that good to keep me going.

Looking forward to 1000+ episodes from now when Sian uses groundwavesattelite5Gwifihaki from super far away to completely disable super strong high up military official.

We no longer get cute Rabitita or whatever, but this one talks which is kind of nice.
No idea what's going on at all, and have feeling I never will, but 3/5, I chill with it

3 episode and I still have no idea how to feel about this. Idk if I should drop this or not so I guess I'll just keep watching. Still I think every episode is more confusing than the next. Well at least the teacher guy is still alive. So he was the king's little brother? Also scared ash or whatever that heals very well problem some very messed up process to make it I guess.

Belle becomes a soloist and her teacher is...actually a bad guy? Also....Kitty lied to her...I wonder why? I wonder where that stone came from. Things are only getting more interesting as we go. It sucks Belle didn't tell Bellein she was her big sister but it was nice to see her reconnect with the people that raised her. I also love how she took out that dude and soak in al the boos. It's wild how breaking a sword in this universe is like a death sentence.
I haven't updated in years but now I have changed that. I'll be free soon.

I'm so indifferent about this. I love the world and music but the story feels random and disconnected. I get what's happening but at the same time, I don't. Everyone is talking about concepts like we should know them. The kanjis aren't enough. I didn't feel anything when she got her pendant back or when she met her parents. Belle destroying swords and laughing about it was peak

Can't wait for the OST to be released. It was a pretty good episode and the reunion with the family (finding she has a sister) was sweet.

This story & World is really quite dense. I don't think 12 episodes will cut it. I like it, but see a lot of confused people here.

This was a cool episode! There is a lot that is left unsaid, so you have to really work to understand the story. Quite a refreshing change of pace, even if it doesn't always do a great job of showing off the worldbuilding that it doesn't tell.

I realize this is supposed to be a Serious Story, even if I have no effin clue what the plot is going on around here, but I can't help but laugh every time I see a new backward name introduced: Enola, Erewhon, Lived... it's a good thing that only appears to apply to swords or there might have been some questions about Gaff.

It reminds me of someone I used to know who wrote stories using the same 'clever' naming convention because it seemed cool. In middle school.

idk how to feel about this episode; part of me though it was really touching but another part felt confused...like is it a problem with storyboarding? It really didn't feel well put together.

I feel dumb not recognizing that sooner.

It does feel like the story is just bursting with ideas that the writer has no clue what to do with, but I give it points for trying to be original and elaborate. I'll also give it a few more episodes, but I'll have to lower my expectations.

I don't normally read or comment in forums but I had to know if I was alone in my confusion of this anime. I'm glad I'm not.

The story seems great I just wish they did more explanation of what is going on. I can't shake the feeling like if I want fully understand, I would have to read the manga or a light novel for all this to make sense.

This 3rd episode is what is making me continue watch for now, it's by far the least confusing. Happy the plot will be moving forward, I mean it kinda has to since they don't explain much. Hopefully next we will see Belle on her adventure to a new town, expanding the world. The cute bunny boy is also a bonus in the episode, can't wait to see more of 'Kitty the All' and his whole backstory if they can get to it.

I really love the world, but in this episode we had quite a lot of fighting, and you could see that animation isn't the greatest. Better Animation would've give so much to this show!

When Belle found out her little sister's name was Bellein ("Belle's little sister"), I cried. Especially since she's been constantly rejected time and time again for the past two and a half episodes, I was so happy to find out her parents she'd run away from still loved as much as they always had.

Then I cried again when the Solist sang a song to Belle about her name, which means "little one", and it was once again related back to her parents.

This anime has been so good so far.

I'm also glad the story isn't spoon-feeding us a lot and instead leaves us to figure stuff out whenever possible. It only explains something when Belle is thinking about it or when she learns about it. We're very much limited to seeing the world through her eyes and (almost) no one else's. And Belle isn't narrating to the audience at all, either. We're simply silent observers whom she has no knowledge of. She's alone even in the sense that doesn't have an audience, unlike many other anime that have the main character narrating to the audience.

Sian really trusting in Belle to change the landscape, it remains to be seen of how she'll do that.

Belle facing one of the 4 Solists of Kir Royale with his Lived sword to play Schwert Musik, even when her sword is affected by Sian's curse, she's determined to make victory happen, even if by any means of shattering his sword, to the decimation of the audience givng her the booing as the Hammer of Fear, destroying the source of life of a solist. But more than most of Sian being exiled from Rawhide's world, the rabbit evolving into a human only makes the situation much worse, as evil solists attack Park City capturing innocents, which included her anthropomorphic parents, who has an actual child of their own taking after Belle's name.

The Rabbitia, Kitty the All, knows that Belle's looking for her pendant, who knows that she is looking for another Rabbitia, Kitty the Nothing. Though he brings her to a pub for her to listen to a wandering troubadour sing a nostalgic song of her, because she too, like Belle, are nomads who cannot speak unless they serve their purpose. And the pendant that he got back from Mist in exchange from a time clock, her roots are only just beginning.

A long road to roots, this is only just the beginning.

Some parts were really well made, some - not so.
But the main issue here is effing plot...

3 eps are out and the damn thing still feels like Alice in Wonderland remake written by stoned-to-death screenwriters ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
How many episodes more it will take to have some clarity of what is happening? :D

It's absurd to sub her name as Dram when we clearly hear LaBlac saying Drambuie. What do they think? Kids are going to run out and start drinking it if they read the name?!

I think I'll be naming the kitten I'm looking for Kitty The All.

Kinda reminds me of Dead Mount Deathplay and how you never really fully know what's going on, but this one's a bit too fast imo so far. It's throwing a bit too many random words at us. That said still enjoying it so far. Hopefully all the buildup leads somewhere satisfying and doesn't just trip over itself.

There are ways to be cryptic and still maintain the audience's interest, and I could name anime that have done this well, but so far this show hasn't explained much at all, and it's also just boring. I should drop it, but I also really want this potentially interesting sci fi world to come together.

I'm getting lonelier each episode... 😭😭😭

P.S. That rabbit character is a helpful one, finally.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Writing for the show leaves something to be desired, if I'm being completely honest - but MAN is the worldbuilding compelling! I really want to know more about these tree swords, Yggdrasil, and this messed up Law of Themes that exists.

This is growing on me. The music is amazing as always. I'm still not super connected to Belle as a character but the world and lore continue to intrigue me. I have so many questions, and I generally like when a story puts me in the position to wonder like this.

What is up with Kitty? Why did he say Belle is his love, what does he want from her? So the Enola survived, but then he had the G-d make it so that he will "live as the dead"? And he was their little brother? Did he escape his status as a G-d by becoming an Enola? It seems so. The way he talked to that woman, it almost felt like he viewed Belle('s development) as a product of their union. Not that they are actually a couple, but they gave off the energy of old partners. I'm sure Belle will have to interact with her at some point.

I can't remember, is Belle not allowed to tell other people about her curse? I thought it could be beneficial for her to discuss it with Gaff but maybe she is not allowed to. The preview says you can't grow as a solist without cutting others down so I wonder what she'll do. Maybe she will find a way to kind of do it? Like she said she was able to cut that rope but was surprised to do so. Maybe she can only cut inanimate things.

@Fairytelly I don't think there's anything preventing her from talking about her Curse - but it would be one of those things you don't want to advertise to just anyone lest people start using it against you.

It doesn't help that the rules of engagement for this duel weren't specified to us beforehand. No one ever said that the fight was "To the death" or even "first blood", Belle just got to a point where she had clearly won and still had to deal with the crowd expecting her to do more.

That definitely makes sense and is probably the case :( but that sounds so lonely, feeling like you have a curse you can tell noone about. I hope she's able to trust someone eventually!

And I agree, I thought it was weird the crowd wanted her to kill him so bad when he was clearly beat :P Maybe Belle will bring a new wave of duels not ending in death. But I'm positive she's gonna keep sword smashing which people are oddly treating as worse. It could be that she gains enough empathy through the series that she stops even that though (seems like she has some problems with it, considering how it was easy for her to cut down living beings before). We'll see!

Sorry if I went on too much, have a nice day :)

Lot of phrases and terms thrown around this episode that I have no idea what they mean. I'm sort of expecting most of this to still not really make a whole lot of sense by the end of the show. Plus I thought her curse was for killing her master, but Sian's still alive? And he's actually royalty if the king calling him brother is literal.

Belle's such a beast that even with the curse she can still just bludgeon enemies with her blade and take them out. Quick battles that weren't as well done as previous episodes but still decent and enjoyable action.

The bunny transforming into a powerful bunny person was a fun surprise. I guess that bath with Belle paid off.

I don't think I've ever been quite this lost but still captivated by an anime like this one. Still content just to float along with it and enjoy the music, the action, and the world it's laying out.

There are a lot of people complaining about nothing being explained. It feels like this episode just started spilling info all over the place, and I feel some things would have greater impact if left unsaid. Don't even get me started on those little subtitles for certain words, they were completely unnecessary.

They keep throwing Deus Ex Machina all over the place. OK, we get it! The enolA trained the one who will kill god. It seems he purposely misconstrued that detail to her, so she thinks that is the name of the god. Kitty probably knows all of this already considering he seems to be able to do whatever he wants with the brain and thoughts of others. I wonder what else is all an illusion...
