~ About Me ~ Hey there! I'm IzanaSolos, but you can just call me Izana. I speak three languages: Spanish (Hola!), Japanese (こんにちは!), and English (Hello!). I was born in Japan, and anime has always been my thing, especially during my final year of university. I love watching exciting shows each season and discussing them on forums. My anime journey started with Pokemon, but I don't really count it as my first anime since I lost track of how many episodes I watched. Naruto holds a special place in my heart; it's practically part of who I am. I followed Naruto religiously on Toonami when I lived in the US and continued watching it in Japan for a decade. After taking a break, I got back into anime when Naruto appeared in Fortnite. I'm an avid Fortnite player, so I decided to rewatch Naruto, which reignited my passion for anime. That's when I joined MAL to keep track of all the anime I was watching. I'm excited about the conversations we'll have in the future. Looking forward to connecting with you all! ~ Favorite Anime ~ Naruto Naruto is an amazing anime that tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a ninja aiming to become the Hokage. what a coincidence, it took me exactly 3 days to catch up to the latest chapter (at the time) as well lmao. i think it's thanks to the series' easy readability which suzuki really prioritizes. since a common complaint in shounen is how there's too much crammed dialogue (mostly in hxh and jjk), suzuki really tried to make it a smoother experience for all the readers (mentioned in the interview i've attached below), which also ties into the fluid action sequences. the fact that sakadays has no power system that requires explaining also helps it's case in omitting a lot of the typical dialogue haha
yes, i love how they lace in comedy with the dynamic action lmao so many characters can be goofy. osaragi is one of my favorite characters in the series! my only complaint is she doesn't get enough screentime haha
i see right now you've made more progress into the JCC infiltration arc, nice! any particular favorite characters or moments so far? also are you only gonna read physical or digital as well? and since you buy physical you must be familiar with the volume covers by now, it's widely accepted that sakadays has the best covers in jump right now!
where elusive samura is concerned, i cant really fault them for the CGI since it was a scene that used a lot of horses/ animals etc..
but I wont deny that they fumbled the dog chasing scene.. especially since it was so cool in the manga..
what I do worry about is in war scenes whether or not they will use CGI for all the soldiers or not.. there was a similar issue that they had with blue locke..
it seems to just be a constant of the anime realm to use CGI to take shortcuts.. but so far, I don't have high hopes for getting through chapters of the manga quickly.. it seems like it will end with the battle against sadamune and the ear guy.. and recruiting people for the other eps..
but that's just my take..
and to be fair it is out of cloverworks comfort zone.. in any case.. as a manga reader I can promise the earliest parts of the story are the worst ones and you only go up once they start getting into warring states/ prefectures.
Listen to your friend.. sakamoto manga is peak and the anime looks like a run of the mill seasonal/ mass produced cash grab anime..
sorry to say especially considering how much status Sakamoto days does have in the manga realm..
nothing to say about dandadan.. i see a bright future I'm ngl.. good on sensei for picking studio saru.
Some other honorable mentions this season would be tower of god, fairy tale 1000 year quest and Makein.. the last one being a romcom, not sure if that's ur cup of tea but whatever..
i don't think I will be watching TOG s2, especially since I have reached as far as I have in the webtoon.. the production would have to particularly good..
season 1 was fine as an intro, and it was the first webtoon to get the Crunchyroll anime treatment so I watched it.. but for now I think I will stick to the webtoon .
yeah watched the latest ep, it's easy to watch 1 ep a week rather than binge watching it hahah
kubo was rushed, as were many mangaka when trying to wrap up their series. its moreso an industry problem with poor working conditions. (doesn't help that he was having health issues)
many new titles this season coming from jump like elusive samurai and also sakamoto days/ dandadan.. its kind of exciting as a long term reader. So far elusive samurai has officially redeemed my opinion of cloverworks as a terrible studio and proved to be peak, (they messed up fate Grand order Babylonia and ever since people been saying clover works should stick to Slice of life romcoms) I had my concerns since it was a battle manga with horses and allat.. and since David productions didn't want to do steel ball run because of that (and did urusei yatsura instead) I was surprised that it was taken up by them.
another interesting but fitting pick is studio saru for dandadan, who did an excellent job with scott pilgrim.. it looks like they have an affinity to doing weird / unorthodox series in general and that just seems to be their brand
Sakamoto's PV/ first look seems very underwhelming and disappointing for such a well reknown source material.. I'm starting to simply just pray that the production quality is secretly S tier.. now I know it is unrealistic to expect EVERY series that is popular to get a good adaptation (look how they massacred my boy kaneki in RE anime) but Sakamoto days is the second best selling manga in jump right now under one piece and it wouldn't be a stretch to say its carrying the magazine with how many breaks oda has been taking.. i would just expect such a coveted and popular manga to be adapted well if that makes sense
anyway Kudos!, and there's my yap sesh for today
Since euros and cricket world cup is done so have a free time during nights that's why or else would take me much longer to watch this much hahah
Well am currently on ep 8, but because of constant dialogues am pausing a lot in between so feel like it will take much longer for me to complete it 💀
so i'd say they both deserve a read for how good they are for different reasons, but seeing as how dandadan is still in the middle of an arc (one that has been the slowest-paced so far, might i add), while sakadays just finished one it's most important arcs and is about to start a new arc seemingly soon, i'd say go with sakadays first.
also, dandadan anime's trailer actually looked quite good whereas sakadays trailer wasn't as good as i was hoping, so there's a higher chance that you'd be disappointed with the latter if you went into it blind lol but you can't go wrong with reading either series really.
