I was so confused lol!! I actually have been published in a manga magazine online once and it was really bad, so when you said you liked my work I was like, how did you read it lol? I was worried cuz my old manga was terrible. 😅

Also I understand what you mean now! I actually like Visual kei! I think they all look beautiful and cool!

Also I did notice the art style change personally I thought it looked bad, the modern sailor moon just doesn't appeal to me and I notice the faces and eyes look way more simple and everything looks too shiny imo. I understand artists evolve with time but its a shame because the old clamp art style was absolutely gorgeous, my favorite work by them is RG Veda and Tokyo Babylon.

Yeah I love the art style of WeiB Kreuz ^_^ and its fun to watch! Also I'm confunsed on what you mean by "my work" and what anime magazine are you talking about? Very confused ∘ ∘ ∘ ( °ヮ° ) ? And what do you mean by visual band?

Also I would imagine so, Emmerod's hair is really long ^^;

I really can't stand how new anime looks, I don't understand why the animators can't just draw it the old way.

THANKK YOUU SO MUCH, you're willing to list all of this. I want to to hug you in person..it must be meticulous thing to do. As expected mal is full of knowledgeable person in all aspect. you're a certified shoujo expertist. I will read one of it someday.

Oh i'm almost forgot that maybe i can't help much manga, it's been a while i read some shounen that i forgot to list some in mal like. hope we can talk more about manga. It interesting you buy shoujo manga serialization regularly. (in my heart i really want you to read gakuen alice since the story goes deeper in manga) but perhaps your first impression does not make it good, i gave up.

However if you ever have a need to read romance other than shoujo manga or shounen. You can go to webtoon app and read manhwa. Personally i like My in-laws are obsessed with me and a martial master wakes up as concubine.

Btw you're collection is tremendously amazing, I'm drooling just by looking at it. Your taste is *chef kiss as you like Clamp work and Juuni Kokuki and Saiunkoku monogatari. I have so much respect for that. Tsubasa chronicle is my childhood that makes me an anime fan.

I agree Rayearth looks very beautiful! I love the work of the character designer Atsuko ishida she adapted the clamp style and made it even more elegant for the anime which I loved. Unfortunately you are probably right in that the art for the new rayearth is probably gonna be simple and shiny with a overuse of gradients which anime tends to do these days which I really hate. My favorite character is Hikaru and Emmerod atm ^_^

Manga panels being so small is not a stylistic choice, rather a limitation of physical media, like there is only so much paper you can print on...
Besides, aren't you manga readers a really big fan of those double spreads?

Another benefit of a purely digital release is that the panels can be spread out, so the author can properly pace the events with empty space.

I mean they definitely did adapt stuff like Solo Levelling, but when like Kadokawa is basically an online light novel publisher, and they can just in-house adapt whatever mildly popular isekai they want, instead of buying licenses from outside the country, it's no wonder that there are way more Japanese works adapted into Japanese anime.

To be fair, there are so many isekais made that some actually turn out to be good, but for the most part it's still a tropey wish fulfillment power fantasy genre, where even the parodies of have become stale long ago.

And Manwha has colored pages, color is too OP.

Oh no, it's all a matter of practice, I didn't even know how to open Excel and today I've already memorized several formulas, it's training that you learn. :3

Regarding the video, the girl only got hit because she hit first, I'm not an advocate of violence, but I think that when someone is willing to attack they have to be prepared to be attacked back, regardless of the gender of those involved. ^^

Don't say that Kihel-san, that sounds like communist talk. ☭

It's like they say: "Good or bad, what you out comes back to you" :3

Ohhh sounds like you have few hidden type of gem, since you read a lot. I'm honored to know that Basara and 7 SEEDS is well-known since i never heard of them before unlike the famous Fruit basket, Skip Beat or Akatsuki no yona. Shoujo manga is kinda niche anyway.

and Yes i do read the commemorative book already after finishing it.

Since you like them, can you give few recommendation on hidden gem or less well known shoujo? That would be great since you're a veteran in this area :) Most of hidden shoujo is kinda short but i like longer serialization better.

Maybe you can search for more in other type like josei or seinen/shounen. If you want some recommendation i can only offer based on my completed list only (if you want to of course).

It is different, but some schools have Japanese or Chinese classes in America, it really depends on the language teachers available.

Also even though I don't like American cartoons or comics that much, I do like Mickey mouse , Tom and Jerry and Looney tunes. I think the reason American comics don't have beautiful boys is because comics are usually targeted at teens and adults in America and the beauty standard is different, the American heroes have big muscles and are like 30 year old men, which doesn't appeal to me very much.

Also yes!.I've been watching Magic knight rayearth and really enjoying it! I think the art is very beautiful! Who's your favorite character from the story?

Aside from Big O, I put a lot of things over currently trending anime and manga.

By the way, how are you doing this summer?
Kurt_Irving Aug 4, 8:06 PM
I kind of knew that you weren't that interested in said manga that I've known since childhood. Not really that surprised overall and not totally surprised that Sunrise made many good anime for five decades.

The difference between Big O and Batman is not any more of that impossible apples to oranges comparison than the difference between Earth and Titan.
Kurt_Irving Aug 4, 5:54 PM
Not sure what you mean by minor (not a word I see used very often; maybe you're referring to obscure) and it still has a lot of things in common with Batman. Both Roger and Bruce are billionaire characters about my age. Both characters have secret vehicles as well. That is, Big O and the Batmobile, both of which are painted black. Both of their respective stories also came from graphic novels.

I haven't forgotten about their butlers being extraordinary. Both being former government agents, training in combat when they were around my age.

I'm not too surprised that Hitoshi Ariga has any degree of love for Batman. Seeing those Batman references all over the place being so clear. Those same references and style that not only made his manga series popular among westerns, but among my demographic cohort.

Said young neighbor still feels strong Batman references or characteristics in said manga. Again, action sells, like totally and he still thinks Japanese Batman every time he reads it.

Big O got so much respect from Warner that WB got exclusive localization rights to its adaptation. Better than Sony and Crummyroll getting their hands on it, localization-wise.

What I do find surprising is that Big O wasn't aired on everyday television in Japan. It was more likely to be seen on plain old television back in my day than Last Exile, Silent Möbius, Gatekeepers (its sequel too), Argento Soma, Dual, Full Metal Panic, Tenchi GXP, Rahxephon (my supertomboyish friend is a huge fan of that series), Vandread, Crest of the Stars, Record of Lodoss War, Read Or Die (TV) and so on.

Evangelion did get aired on plain old television back in my day, but not it's cinematic sequel.
Kurt_Irving Aug 4, 4:20 PM
What do you think of Big O?

I've known that series for decades. I got that whole entire manga on my external SSD before I gave it away.

I told some neighbor kid that it's the Japanese Batman when he asked what it was. Action sells indeed and it's no surprise that a lot of kids still love superheroes.

I'm trying to get into administration, but making these spreadsheets in Excel is messing with my brain, it's a lot of formulas and shortcut keys to decorate, sometimes it feels like my brain is going to melt...
Me=😔
