Mirai Nikki (TV)

Yukiteru Amano is a shy middle schooler who regularly keeps track of what he does in his daily life by writing down all of his activities on his phone—a digital diary. Despite having no friends at school, Yukiteru is frequently seen talking to his supposedly imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, the god of time and space; and Deus' servant, Mur Mur.

One day, Yukiteru wakes up and discovers that certain events of his day are preemptively displayed on his cellphone. While initially dismissing it as a coincidence, he slowly realizes that the incidents written in his phone actually take place in the near future. After spending the day benefiting from this new asset, Yukiteru learns that his classmate Yuno Gasai possesses a similar diary.

As the two team up to defeat an odd pursuer and head back to their respective homes, Deus Ex Machina explains that they—alongside 10 other contestants—have been drawn into a survival game whose victor will become the deity's successor. With no other options, Yukiteru and Yuno must use their cellphones—now called "Future Diaries"—to survive this unforgiving battle royale.

So i recently finished this anime , future diary is recommended highly because of its plot and main characters ( amano yuki and yuno gasai ) .

Pros :
1 - Good Adaptation
2 - Fast Pacing ( episodes ends quickly in my POV )
3 - Good Plot ( a future - time travel based plot which was started like 2 decades ago ( anime itself being a decade old ) , author has my applause )
4 - Good Ending ( Also watch sequel - Future diary OVA )

Cons :
1 - Bad story narrations ( No proper Story Building , its just random )
2 - Poor ... Character development ( excluding yuno and yukki )


Overall my rating is 8 , Future diary is a must watch anime when you are bored ! Although you may feel little confused in some places but at the end of the anime you will realize how good the plot is . Thank you

scamboli describes it best. this show is like "another" to me. just abhorrent and the funniest shit ever.
ok i guess i need to add more. the death game aspect is the only good part. also popularized the yandere architype !!! wow chat gpt.
ok i guess the main guy? pittles lets call him, stupidest fucking idiot ever good this guy is SO retarded! but its chill cuz hes unintentionally the funniest dude the show has to offer. the villains have infinite budget for literal preset gas traps? Awesome sauce! Holy Smokes!
jesus i need more words. yeah this show sucked. uh watch the dub for a ... better experience laughing. thats about it, cya.

Rewatched it after a few years, and now I know why I didn't rewatch it a long time ago.

I like gore, horror, or similar anime, but in this it depends on each other supporting aspect so that I really like that genre, but unfortunately not for this anime.

The main weakness in this anime is the MC himself, Yuuki.
I tried to endure seeing the behavior of this MC, because it is impossible when a child suddenly has to take part in a game of death.
Yes, I'm aware of that, and it's impossible for MC to just become a strong figure.
But unfortunately after I watched the ... whole episode, the MC was the character I hated the most! Clumsy, naive, late in taking action, shouts a lot, cowardly, loser, and there are many more annoying things about MC Yuuki.

In just a few episodes, the MC should have realized that he was under pressure from the death game, but for some reason the author is not aware of this, MC's development is very bad, even though he has almost died several times, MC always acts like a loser and coward.
The most annoying thing is that MC can only rely on Yuno and even though MC is aware of that, MC has absolutely no intention of changing himself to be brave, but remains a loser.

As for Gasai Yuno's character, to be honest, I'm a little confused by his character, sometimes he acts normal, but sometimes he turns into a sadistic figure. Yuno's development here is very uneven.

Not only from the nature of the MCs here, but the thing that I think is bad is the delivery of fan service between episodes, for example going to the swimming pool. Are you serious? The problem is, this is a horror anime with lots of killing and blood, but at such a critical time, does this MC still have free time to swim? In my opinion, instead of going to the swimming pool, it's better for the MC to practice and strategize so that he can survive the death game, so that the MC doesn't become timid!

In essence, this anime is bad enough to be a Gore anime, from the cowardly and loser MC until the end, the story line changes too drastically, from tension to relaxing by going to the swimming pool, comedy that suddenly appears in the middle of the battle, it doesn't matter if there is comedy, but to know where to place it correctly so it doesn't look strange!
