both are very philosophical and dark, deeply written characters and themes of trauma, abuse, war, love and hate, life and death, interpersonal relationships, the human condition. even if you've already watched brotherhood, the original fma is a completely different beast (and a way better one, in my opinion. brotherhood does not tackle the subjects that 2003 does, in fact it barely brushes up against them). there are a lot of little details and care that went into each of these series. the main difference in these series is that evangelion is less about the characters and world and more about the themes and the message anno is trying to convey while seamlessly integrating characters and world into it, and fma is more focused on the characters and world while seamlessly integrating philosophy and themes into it.

both are schizophrenic comedic fever dreams where absurdity and violence run rampant (although the violence is a bit more graphic in BTD). BTD is also more sexualized/fanservice-y. there are times in both shows, that i quite truthfully got them confused one time trying to remember a scene, where there are absurd situations that happen and the main character says to the affect "is anyone else seeing this" but everyone else acts like it isn't happening or that it's completely normal. if you find laughter in absurdity and over-the-top situations, this might just be for you.

Two Good vs. Evil factioned romcoms with two people from opposite sides falling in love with each other despite all other odds, set in modern day Tokyo.
Main difference is that the genders are reversed in both with as to who is on the good side and who is on the evil side. Also that the good side in Koiseka is a whole group whereas in Mahoaku, the good MC normally works solo.

From the very, and I literally mean the very first scene you can see the similarities and the clear inspiration Mekakucity Actors took from Utena, particularly the movie. And is that both make use of surreal architecture, symbolism and avant-garde story telling that the enjoyers of each will likely enjoy the other.

Orange
|
These animes both portray the harshness of what life brings to you. Erased and Orange both bring supernatural events such as time travel complications to try and bring out different events to help prevent the life changing event that the protagonist wants to not face again. These animes both utilize past trauma as a motive to try and produce a different outcome with the help of the time travel mechanic. I definitely recommend both of these animes as they were fun, sad and beautiful to watch.

|
These animes are both mechas that are really amazing. What makes the characters special are that they all go through mental struggles that help to make the characters feel more real and human. Also, 86 does use cgi for the mechs but it is the best cgi i have ever seen, if anything I will forever defend the use of cgi for the mechas only because of the high quality of cgi. I do prefer animation over cgi but in this case I prefer the cgi.

They both have time travel elements, however in my opinion Summertime Render does the time travel mechanic better by adding consequences for dying. It is explained in Summertime Render that when he dies, his respawn time goes closer to when he dies each time he dies. They are both really good animes. Steins gate is more mainstream but Summertime Render is definitely an underrated gem.

Similar character dynamics, characters in general are very similar, the type of humor is super similar, identical setting, and the different characters’ backstories are very similar (aside from the whole revenge plot line in Masamune-Kun).
The only difference between these two shows is that the MC of Masamune-Kun has a plot related reason to get closer to his version of the Alya and that Masamune-Kun has more exaggerated humor, but aside from that the two shows are almost entirely identical; truthfully speaking, Alya-san is the better anime but both are a fun watch and if you enjoyed watching Alya-San enough to look for anime similar to it then I recommend watching Masamune-kun
