Manga: Akatsuki no Yona
...then you might like
Akatsuki no Yona
Akatsuki no Yona and Basara share several similarities, especially in terms of themes, characters, and storylines. These similarities make both manga appealing to readers who enjoy epic journeys, character growth, and struggles against injustice. Here is a (not so) brief overview about these two manga titles: 1. Theme and Setting Both are set in historical fantasy worlds reminiscent of feudal periods, where kingdoms and politics play significant roles in the storyline. Both stories highlight themes of struggle, rebellion, and the journey of the main characters in their efforts to restore peace and justice to their homeland. 2. World-Building Both have rich and detailed world-building, with various cultures, tribes, and diverse backgrounds that add depth to the story. 3. Tough Female Protagonist Akatsuki no Yona features Yona, a princess forced to flee her palace after a coup d'état and embarks on a journey to resque her kingdom with the help of her friends. Meanwhile Basara features Sarasa, a young girl who must disguise herself as her slain twin brother to lead a rebellion against a tyrannical ruler. Both manga also feature numerous battle scenes and strategic conflicts, where the main characters must use their intelligence and bravery to overcome powerful enemies and difficult situations. 4. Character Development and Growth Both manga depict the long journey of the main characters, where they meet various people, face numerous obstacles, and grow become even stronger and wiser leaders. Sarasa and Yona start as naive young girls, but through their journeys, they learn about bravery, strategy, and how to lead their people. 5. Romantic Elements Both features a slow burn romance that develops gradually throughout story and building tension. Akatsuki no Yona has subtle romantic elements, especially between Yona and Hak, as well as dynamics with other characters. Meanwhile Basara has strong romantic elements between Sarasa and Shuri, who initially are enemies but grow to understand and love each other.

Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii
Fantasy shoujo romance (Soredemo is high fantasy, Kamisama is set in modern times) in which the FL is suddenly elevated to a role that puts them directly in contact with the ML (Tomoe is Nanami's familiar, Livi is Nike's husband). Over time, the FL opens the ML's darkened heart through compassion and willpower. Rival love interests desire and even capture the FL for her powers, but it's her heart that truly wins them over.

Kaguya-sama's rich FL x hardworking ML compares to Last Game's rich ML x hardworking FL, though both Kaguya and Shirogane are more similar to Yanagi than Kujou. Rivals to lovers. Like Yanagi's "last game" to Kujou, the objective of Kaguya's and Shirogane's "war" is to make the other person fall in love. A tagline for one chapter of Last Game may have inspired one of Kaguya-sama's early arcs.

The main similarity between these manga i found was the friendship between the main girl and guy. In both series, the guy takes care of the girl in a parent like way and the girl is a bit eccentric and very small. However, the series differ in the rest of the cast, the type of humour and even the personalities of the main characters. Nonetheless, both of these series follow a group of friends in high school with a comedic focus, with some romantic elements sprinkeld in. Therefore, if you liked one i could probably recommend you the other.

Similarities: - both have smart, strong and badass fl characters  - both have crazy, cunning, unhinged and mysterious ml who is in love with the fl - both initially want to kill each other (olgami more literally, rwtgi more metaphorically) - the chemistry between the fl and ml is slow burn and so angsty but they are literally made for each other  - storyline 10/10 (although rwtgi is ongoing TT) -modern day setting Differences: - olgami is a vampire story but rwtgi is based around yakuzas (lol can't think of anything else) Highly highly recommend reading both. They have a really good storyline that leave you wanting more. The fl and ml character designs are hot and romance is toxic but works for them. They keep going back to each other.

I think these manga (along with xxxHolic and stuff like Pandora Hearts that began around the same time) have a lot of thematic similarities around things like grief and desire to change the past, particular kinds of fascinatingly self loathing characters, etc. that they handle in similar ways. TRC does not consistently have the 2000s Hot Topic gothic aesthetic sensibility that D.Gray-Man does, but it absolutely goes hard with it when it goes for it. Most crucially I think the Venn diagram of the kind of fans who like D.Gray-Man for its BL bait qualities (I'm not claiming intentionality on the part of the author here) and the people who love the kind of thing CLAMP has going on is basically a circle. This too is KuroFai.

Both of these manga have incredible character development and outstanding art styles in their own right. They are similar in the sense of unity between characters, each set in a standard high-school premise, they bridge emotional gaps and truly aim to help and better understand one another. No characters are left out or used to fill in blank spaces, they each have unique drives and goals. Ultimately, readers can feel the impacts these characters have on one another and how much they unconditionally care. Both manga are still releasing new chapters! So excited to see how each of these stories unfold!

The premise of the two shows is different: in Moonlight Sculptor, the MC tries to get as much money as possible, while in Shangri-La Frontier, it's all about enjoying the game, however both have a similar feeling. Both are set in a VRMMO with smart(for LMS that's a little ???) NPCs and fun, enjoyable quests that others don't seem to know much about. Both MCs unlock unusual skills or quests and story unfolds from there.

occasionally i hear someone talk about how ShindoL's Metamorphosis went above and beyond all manga that preceded it in terms of erotic cruelty and torture. ofc, that's far from true, and while i might be at first tempted to point to sleazy eromanga from the 80's, perhaps people who found Metamorphosis intriguing will be able to see clearer similarities between ShindoL's series and Uziga Waita's "Material", a four-chapter work that leads Waita's collection Death Face. the cruelty is there, the cold mercilessness is there. in fact, looking back on it, i think that Metamorphosis may show more sympathy toward its heroine than does "Material". while extending such cruelty into pure guro territory, including amputees and (admittedly VERY creative) body modification, "Material" also establishes a even colder tone than ShindoL's series. obviously not for the faint of heart, but anyone who found Metamorphosis to be worthwhile reading will quickly discover they're only at the tip of the iceberg once they've begun reading Uziga Waita. Death Face also contains ShindoL's equally merciless ryona one-shot "A Valueless Insect"/"Cockroach", which I think is a little more interesting, and which i'd recommend to fans of extreme horror in the vein of Texas Chainsaw. of course, anyone who is already reading things like "Material" will probably find Metamorphosis to be pretty tame, but I still would recommend it to people interested in cruelty within eromanga, especially considering how immensely popular Metamorphosis has become outside of Japan.

Just like Dragon Ball, the fights in Naruto are genuinely phenomenal. The hand to hand combat as well as how both Toriyama and Kishimoto manage to move the fights from panel to pane is super enjoyable. It's all seamless and the actual fight choreography still holds up.

Both stories revolve around a mysterious town where people disappear, die, or worship a god in some incredibly odd manner. While Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu mostly focuses on grief of a close friend and being unable to let go, Higurashi takes an approach that focuses on the disease and the impact it has on the infected. Both play heavily into attempting to research the mysteries behind the town and why things happen the way they do. Higurashi may be harder to understand compared to Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu, but it is still worth the read. Overall, I'm very shocked to see this not be a recommendation.

What does a super shy sexy tanned high school gyaru and a cute shy middle school girl have in common? . .. ... That both are SHY! XD Oh, and that both girls were guys previously. Yes, both stories are focused in how a guy, transformed into a girl, has to explore his new every day life as an attractive member of the opposite sex. The only difference would be that OniMai is a slice-of-life, while Danshi Gyaru is directly a comedy. So if you have no problem with that, you will surely enjoy both.
