"Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World?" is a textbook example of how to take a genre filled with potential and deliver something utterly uninspired. The anime is disappointingly bland, riddled with clichés, and suffers from a poorly constructed story.
Let me break it down:
1. Bland:
If you've seen one "reincarnation" or "isekai" anime, you've seen them all—at least, that's how this series feels. It tries to disguise itself as something slightly different by opting for an alternate universe setting, but it’s the same old formula underneath. Every familiar trope you can think of is here: an overpowered (OP) main character? Check. A childhood friend? Check.
...
A random 10/10 hottie the MC meets almost immediately? Check. The MC wields a special power or weapon that makes him unbeatable? Check. MC has to kill demons to save the world? Check.
If you're hoping for a fresh take on the genre, this anime will disappoint you. It’s a rehash of what we’ve seen before, lacking the creativity or depth found in better series like "Maoyu," "Chilling in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army," or even "Overlord."
2. Clichés:
As mentioned, this anime is a cliché fest. From the demon lord battles to the plot armor that protects the MC from any real harm, the story hits every predictable note. The MC barely gets scratched in battles, and any tension is quickly deflated because you know he'll come out unscathed.
3. Poor story:
The story's biggest flaw is how forced and contrived everything feels. Character interactions, especially those involving the MC and his "prior universe friends," are awkward and inorganic. These characters have known each other for only a few days, yet they trust each other as if they’ve been lifelong comrades. The story is also frustratingly predictable—guess what happens when the OP MC faces the demon king? If you've seen any similar anime, you already know.
And then there are the plot holes. For instance, why does Anise, the Rebel commander and childhood friend of Kai, have to disguise herself as a male commander in a world where women can be high-ranking officers? The show never offers a convincing reason for this bizarre choice. Add to that the random betrayals and nonsensical political machinations that seem included purely for shock value, and you’ve got a story that feels both lazy and poorly thought out.
The only thing really holding this up, is it's really good animation, and good fight scenes. Everything else is kinda hit or miss.
5.5/10, Kinda bland and does nothing new or interesting.

V-Tubers? You watch them, right?
Streamers who use a 3D modeled anime characters, or the fact that most tend to be women, as their main excitement. And with that brings some “down bad” people in chat, and a bit of lighthearted comedy.
Well, to be honest, I don't think “VTuber Legend” is quite as amazing as people let on to be.
Such as its comedy. Now this can be a bit subjective, but I never exactly found the comedy to be very funny since most of it revolves around either being obnoxiously lewd from exercising or the MC saying out of hand sentences when drunk off
...
2 beers as a character trait.
Now that isn't to say that there are not some funny moments, but I found all of them were mostly in the first episode, with each consecutive episode being less comical and more bland in terms of comedy.
Is it fun though? That depends on if you like V-Tubers and want a story to watch, instead of actually going out of your way to watch a real V-Tuber and their antics. It probably is more enjoyable to actually watch a V-Tuber instead of this though, but that depends on if you would rather watch anime over a V-Tuber.
🗿 6.5/10, Fact checked by real Pippatriots. 🗿

“Dungeon People” is a solid anime, combining elements from “The Strongest Tank's Labyrinth Raids” and “Overlord” into a unique dungeon-controlling storyline.
Let me elaborate to explain my point better: The resemblance to “The Strongest Tank's Labyrinth Raids” lies in its focus on dungeon management, particularly the control of monsters and beasts in the control chamber of the dungeon. Similar to “Overlord,” each floor of the dungeon has a distinct leader with their own subjects.
All of this adds up to a story that feels basic but fulfilling and solid overall. The primary issues with this anime are its somewhat generic fantasy setting and mediocre animation. If you’re
...
expecting groundbreaking visuals or a completely fresh take on fantasy, you might be a tad disappointed.
That said, I can understand how this anime's slower, dialogue-oriented story might cause some people to drop it. It’s not action-packed all the time and takes its sweet time to build up the narrative. My response to that is: to each their own. Some people will enjoy the slower pace and detailed world-building, while others might find it too slow and generic.
But for me, it delivers a steady and enjoyable watch each week.
Overall, I give it a 7/10. It's pretty good, and I recommend it if you’re looking for something that’s easy to watch and has a nice blend of strategy and fantasy elements.

(Please take into account I have not read the light novel, and have only watched the anime)
This anime is obnoxious, and feels somewhat like the anime “White Album 2”, in terms of relationships of main characters.
As I said, this is obnoxious, not in the way that it is bad. More so that it's just dumb melodrama wrapped up in a package with two beautiful sisters that get absolutely “rizzed up” by a childhood MC friend that doesn't even try to show his interest. The only thing the MC shows is him holding a lot of depression from having to choose between the two sisters, knowing
...
he will upset one of them.
Let me explain:
1. The MC named Jun is cookie cutter levels of being a bland and basic MC to the point that it's ridiculous. He is the type of person who can not make up his mind on what sister he wants to be with, not to mention he feels depressed for either choice he can make. To be fair, he is forced into this circumstance, because there are no other characters for him to escape the love polygon between the sisters.
2. The sister named Rumi is an idiot who can not for the life of her make up her mind if she truly wants Jun, and always plays the moral high ground of “Well, my sister deserves Jun more than me!!!”. Rumi then feels obvious regret at letting Jun be with her sister Naori while she is sad and mopes around and is depressed due to her own actions of (small spoiler) breaking up with Jun for him to be with her sister. This wouldn't be as bad, but the scene where this happens feels like it was done entirely for plot reasons and shock value.
3. Naori is an uptight person who is a nerd and bookworm who has a moral high ground because she's smart. She has the least amount of idiotic circumstances in this anime, since her bad points are not forced by the plot like Rumi. Naori actually is understandable, but the MC Jun just doesn't care, since he is somewhat sad that he was forced out of a relationship with Rumi. He is hyperfocused on that, instead of moving on and trying to keep Rumi's wishes of him being in a happy relationship with Naori. Naori kinda gets the short end of the stick in these circumstances, since Jun can't pursue a relationship with her since he is focused on Rumi.
4. This has the same vibe of White Album 2's relationships. And with that I can (probably) guarantee that one of the sisters are going to be brutally screwed over one way or another, or this is going to be a harem love polygon where Jun gets them both. Nothing in between can happen.
This is not a typical bad anime, more so, this is something that you really have to be interested in seeing one of the sisters being absolutely "cucked" in their love polygon with Jun, mixed with stupid forced plot circumstances making them depressed for their actions.
If you enjoy that, then you may enjoy this.
If not, then you probably will get very annoyed with this and hate it.

Have you ever watched something you really would think you should enjoy, but it just wasn't quite that amazing?
Something that has all the hallmarks of amazing romance animes, but when combined feels mediocre and doesn't hit you in the feels like you would expect?
For me, that would be Plastic Memories.
Plastic Memories is an anime I wanted to really enjoy, but just couldn't. It has the emotional hallmarks of remarkable animes, but it never quite gets to the point where it is perfectly enjoyable to watch and is thus underwhelming.
Here's a list of problems I have come across with this show, and then I will
...
list them out; The beginning of the anime goes by extremely slowly and the romance did not have enough time to grow, the anime did not focus on the acquisition of giftia and the owner's sorrow nearly as much after the first few episodes, poor comedy, dumb melodrama, milquetoast feeling scenes.
1. Extremely slow beginning and the romance did not have enough time to grow:
The beginning of this anime has very little growth for the two main protagonists. If you are looking for the romance, then you don't necessarily get it until after episode 6, and even then it does not actually come into full effect until episode 10 or so. This is magnified by the show's complete lack of full characterization for Isla, where they do not even try to reveal their personality until halfway through the series. All of these lead to an underwhelming completion for this anime, which is quite upsetting since I believe this has a bunch of potential to be amazing.
2. The anime didn't focus on the acquisition of giftia and the owner's sorrow nearly as much after the first few episodes:
This is the part where emotion really ruled supreme, and the anime could've used it to show characterization for these characters. What the anime does instead is use it as comic relief for the characters more than actually showing the characters growing together from these experiences. Lost potential is the fairest assessment here.
3. Poor comedy (Somewhat subjective):
Comedy here feels forced, with most of it being tied to romance and jealousy from Michiru, or an accidental walk in on a vulnerable moment cliché, neither is funny and/or enjoyable for the most part.
4. Melodrama:
The melodrama here is mainly Michiru being in love with Tsukasa, or related to Isla not wanting to open up and be friends with Tsukasa. Both of these are mainly just annoying, or obnoxious. Both kinda seem like a waste of time, and artificially extends this anime's duration.
5. Milquetoast feeling scenes:
What I mean by this is, scenes that are meant to be emotional and important, but end up more or less not really getting to the point of hitting the feels, some may actually be emotional, but many are not and don't feel quite the same sense of urgency or emotion.
6. Plot holes:
Why doesn't Tsukasa immediately live with Isla if it is part of the job? Why are these androids just meant to go insane at the 9-year mark? Why can't they save the data and re-upload it into either a new and improved body, or take out the data and do a complete upgrade to the android, then put the data back in? None of this is fully explained, and some of these are just plot devices, so it comes across as being shallow.
7/10; All in all, it isn't a bad watch, but it definitely had a lot more potential than this.

“The New Gate” has a somewhat rushed story, very budget animation, and pacing issues. That said, this anime had a lot of potential, but the studio just didn't do it justice.
However, even with its flaws, I still very much enjoyed it. I think that if you like anime with overpowered fantasy main characters and simple romances, you'll probably like this one too. Just be ready to overlook the bad animation and weird pacing.
Let's start with the issues this anime has: a low animation budget, rushed story pacing, the studio's poor adaptation, and character development. I'll go through each of these problems to make things
...
clear, and then I'll move on to the positives.
1. Horrible animation quality for 2024:
The animation quality is so poor it feels worse than a good deal of anime from the 90s, despite being released in 2024. “The New Gate” by far doesn't have an animation made with nearly the same soul as classics like NGE or Cowboy Bebop, but it also looks way worse than those animes. The decision not to keep a similar art style to the manga or light novel's cover has to be one of the worst choices ever made. I mean, you can technically see that the studio tried to copy the design of the manga, but it is so abhorrently bad at mimicking the style that they should've just tried something different.
2. Studio's impact on making this not as well adapted: (bit of a continuation from #1)
We already said that the animation is one of the worst released in the last decade. If a better studio had handled it, a lot of the issues like animation quality, pacing, and not adapting all the LN/Manga's content would probably be fixed. This is probably one of the most disappointing adaptations for fans of the light novel and manga because it doesn’t cover all of its content and feels rushed.
3. Rushed Pacing & Adaptation Issues:
“The New Gate” tries pushing a lot of content into 12 episodes, stuff that would regularly be put into 2 or 3 seasons for other anime like “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” is shoved into a 12-episode season. Next, the adaptation seems to not be done very well considering it skips scenes that are in the manga and LN, which is disappointing since this anime sometimes feels lifeless. This is an anime that feels like Overlord mixed with That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (calling it “Slime” from now on), with the characters kinda seeming like characters from “Slime” put into a world similar to Overlord. I personally really like this aspect, and it should come out as interesting, which it does, but the countless other issues I have stated hold this anime down from what it could be.
4. Characters:
The characters are pretty decent, but they could've been better if the anime gave them more depth. Shin, the main character, is well-done and likable, and even without a detailed backstory you end up liking his characterization throughout the series. He is not a stupid and nonsensical MC who does ridiculous actions that don't make sense. Other characters, however, seem to lack the characterization Shin has. While you can understand these other characters actions, they constantly feel like they are missing some scenes to properly give them the characterization they deserve.
Here's the kicker, the story is actually good. I just believe that when people are focused so much on the issues an anime has, they miss the good parts. If you can look past the bad animation and pacing, you’ll find more than just a basic isekai with dumb characters. I would just say the main issue here is that the adaptation doesn't do this anime justice for what it is.
🗿 7.5/10 – I know I’m rating it a bit high, but I really enjoyed it overall and think it’s worth a try. 🗿

Is "Unnamed Memory" good? If you don't compare it to the light novel, then yeah, it's pretty solid.
Is "Unnamed Memory" bad? If you're a fan of the source material, you might be disappointed.
So, which one is it? Good or bad? Well, it's a bit more nuanced than that.
Quick TL;DR
It's a great anime if you don't compare it to the light novel. The producers crammed content from three whole books into just 12 episodes, resulting in a rushed series that leaves out a lot of important details. This is most noticeable in episodes 5-7. Despite this, I still enjoyed the anime and think most people would
...
too.
- More Detailed Review -
Let's start with the pacing. Honestly, it's kind of a mess. Most episodes cram in too many plot points and then just end abruptly. It feels like the whole storyline is on fast-forward, which can be pretty jarring and hard to follow. This show really needed a 24-episode season to give the plot and characters the time to develop properly to make everything easier to follow.
Nuanced characters? Technically, yes, but the anime doesn't do them justice. The characters are indeed complex, but the show skips half the development they get in the light novel. Oscar is a decent protagonist, with a lot of potential depth and growth that we just don’t see. Many plot points involving him are left out, leaving you confused about what's happening and why he makes certain decisions.
This issue is even worse with Tinasha. Her character arc is especially rushed, so much so that it feels like you’re only getting snippets of her story. In the light novel, her character is given the time and space to develop organically, but the anime cuts so much that her motivations and background can seem unclear or underwhelming. So, yes, the characters are nuanced, but take that with a grain of salt – the anime doesn’t give you the full picture.
The animation is alright. It's clearly on a budget, and this anime does deserve better animation, but it works for what it is.
Despite its flaws, I personally found "Unnamed Memory" to be a great watch. Most people who have read the light novel will most likely not like this anime due to the significant cuts and pacing issues.
However, I think this is still worth a watch despite the problems, I would recommend at least give it a try and watch it through.
🗿 7/10, I found it good overall 🗿

"Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers" has a good concept, but has a mediocre execution.
Here's why:
1. Extensively bland MC "Filio", especially after the first two episodes. He basically is the embodiment of the typical OP MC as well, considering he faces no real resistance against any of his attacks for this entire season.
2. the female MC "Fenrys" is mainly meant to be "Wifu bait", what I mean by this is that the entirety of this anime basically focuses on the big breasted anime "wifu", who tries to be the idol wife material MC for Flio, having an excellent character arc
...
throughout the series compared to most other characters. You can tell this since the intro to this anime focuses entirely on her, not really Filio.
3. The villains are one-dimensional. They're just angry demons who want human land and lack any real depth or interesting traits. They come across as generic baddies without much personality.
4. The other hero in the series is almost useless after the first episode, turning into a Team Rocket-like character that’s just there for comic relief, popping up in the main plot only occasionally.
5. The animation looks dated, like it was made on a small budget a decade ago, not something released in 2024.
That said, I actually enjoyed this for the most part, mainly since it doesn't really have much melodrama constantly shoved in the viewers face, and the romance is actually quite good all things considered since it doesn't have a harem with 7 other "wifus" to make it oversaturated with massive dumb relationships. This is actually quite tame, with the MC actually not cheating on his wife with everyone he meets, mainly focusing on the 2 MC's marriage.
All that said, this is actually quite enjoyable, but you might not want to watch this if you dislike generic isekai "wifu slop" or hate low budget looking anime. I however, think this is quite good for what it is.
🗿 7/10 🗿

Let's be honest, "As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I'll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World" is a pretty good anime. It's not boring, and the characters are interesting enough to keep you watching.
But there are better anime out there that do similar things and do them better. When I think of shows like this, "The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt" and "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom" come to mind. They have main characters who are more mature and don’t rely on just one skill to get things done. These shows have more nuanced characters and each
...
takes a different approach to leadership. For example, "As a Reincarnated Aristocrat" is all about finding skilled people to help run the kingdom. "Realist Hero" focuses on using advisors' information to make smart decisions, while "Genius Prince" is about outsmarting enemies and handling bureaucracy.
In "As a Reincarnated Aristocrat," the main character, Ars, doesn’t really show great leadership skills. His success is mostly thanks to his retainers doing the heavy lifting. He’s not a great leader himself, just lucky to have good people around him.
That said, the story is decent. It's not amazing, but not bad either. Sure, there are some dumb twists, but that's typical for isekai, so I wouldn’t be too harsh on it.
🗿 7/10. It’s good, but those other shows I mentioned are probably better. 🗿

"A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics" is a good but somewhat slow series that seems designed to get viewers to read the light novel (LN). It feels like the anime doesn't fully utilize its content, purposely cutting down and slowing the pacing to encourage the audience to buy and read the LN.
This doesn't mean it's a bad watch for those looking for a slower, slice-of-life anime. It delivers exactly that: a somewhat slow and easy-to-watch story about a detective named Sousuke and his "adopted daughter" Sara. These two have a good dynamic, and although much of the content is ridiculous and absurdly unrealistic, it’s still a
...
fun watch overall.
In summary, it's a solid show—good, but not exceptional. I'd recommend it to anyone seeking something straightforward and easy to watch. However, if you're not a fan of slower-paced anime that seem to nudge you towards reading the LN for more depth, this might not be your cup of tea.
🗿 7/10, it's good.🗿
