This is an odd one. The premise sounds interesting and the execution thusfar is, well I don't really have anything to compare it too. Many people mention Chobits thou I haven't seen that. The story sums up to a guy falls in love with a android, shocker I know, and it slowly learns about being human. Initially I figured it would be all in the guys head, but as the episodes go it looks to be more a study of one of the possibilities of AI evolution.
It's not a bad show, thou it feels lacking. Probably because when most people think emotionless they think what
...
is it Kuudere which this is not, but it is as the android does not have the ability to change facial expressions. I kind of gives me Bicentennial man vibes but a much slower burn, and the android does not start with human emotions and then work to express them but starts with no to perhaps very basic emotional understanding and grows them. As far as recommending it, like I said at the start it's an odd one. If your looking for Romcom this probably isn't for you, at least not as of ep 3. If your are looking for Strick romance its probably the same. If your interested in AI and its possible implications this may be worth a watch. I think the biggest thing holding this back is the MMC as while again he's fine, he doesn't do much to bring up the show.
The art is solid, good even.
The sound direction is good, OP and ED probably aren't going on any playlists but they are a fun listen too.
and yea that's about it.

This show was one I initially was gonna pass on and so far I'm glad I didn't. Normally I see an idol show and click next this one though intrigued me. The first episode is a full length movie, a pretty ballsy move on the studios part and it paid off. The art in the show is solid, reminiscent of My Dress up Darling without the fan service. While I would like to comment on the story it is still fairly early even though in a normal season it would be the equivalent of about 7 episodes the first is a foundational one introducing the
...
characters and letting the audience get to know the reasons for the rest of the show and does it's job well as a foundation to build upon, that twist at the end of ep1 made my face leak a bit.
The audio in the show is solid all actors fit and the OP is a banger.
The characters are solid so far, only time will tell if there is any growth but giving that the writer of the source is the same as Kaguya-sama I am not worried. That being said do not expect much comedy, perhaps it picks up later but this is a much more serious work, which is great as it shows the writers range. The MMC is a quite kid motivated by the ending of ep 1 and working on the downlow to find the root cause of it. The FMC is kind of a carbon copy of the mother but that's not bad and brings some bright naivete to the show. Both of these characters were reincarnated the FMC was 12 and the MMC was mid 20's I believe so the difference in their approaches fits especially early on. The supporting characters are alright this is perhaps the shows weakest point so far, but even there the one that matters has had some good growth shown.
Overall this is a solid show and is worth a watch even if your not big on the idol anime scene.
Below here is a bit of a rant:
The more anime I see the more I realize that 99% of the anime community shouldn't be allowed to review them, perhaps myself included. The top 2 on this give the show a 3 and a 4 respectively as of the time of this review and that's just downright wrong. Perhaps it comes down to how one measures reviews but the idea that this show could be so low with the art alone is laughable. Because something doesn't jive with your style does not make it bad it makes it not for you. In such a case don't rate it or if your going to at least attempt a modicum of objectiveness to it. With that rant done. If your still here quit wasting your life and watch this show at least the first episode as it is well worth it as a standalone.

This show is a bit of a mixed bag. Coming off the heals of My dress-up darling this show needed to be something more to really contend. This show lacks something, and I think that thing is growth which may happen in the latter half of the season. There really isn't a story per say its just a general slice of life anime. The MMC is in a word pathetic, and detracts the most from the story. Sure you can have an unlucky character who gets saved by his Mary Sue but it does lean a little hard into it, made worse by the fact
...
that if you looked bitch up in the dictionary this guys face would be right there. the FMC shikimori is alright, the superwomen gimmik is kind overplayed and underexamined. I mean in Ep 1 she swats a 80+ pound metal sign like its nothing, minor spoilers btw, this could be an interesting in concept much like the MMC horrid "luck" Luckily the FMC is more rounded then the MMC and there are side characters.
Speaking of which they are the source of about 100% of the laughs and chuckles this show has received from me. They start off a bit bland in the setup of the main 2 but their interrelation and banter have been carrying the show the last couple episodes.
This last one gave me hope, that being ep 5, as the MMC was only half a bitch actually do a couple not completely idiotic things and doing a good. sure he ended up needing to be saved at the end but baby steps.
Character and story aside the art is decent, I actually dislike that they went as ham on the 2 MC's sure it makes them easy to pick out in a lineup or a crowd but it also really puts the spotlight on them and they just don't quite live up to it, at least not yet. The scenery is nice, The river animations seemed smooth, overall not bad.
Sound is sound nothing stands out either good or bad. OP is aight ending is skipped.
Overall the show is a drag for the first few episodes but then starts to pickup, time will tell if it keeps up. At this point though I would recommend it should you have nothing else to watch and have a bit of patience to spare for the first hour of it.

I went into this pretty lukewarm after the first season and the lack of any growth worth mentioning. I know its supposed to be a slice of life comedy, the thing is is now half way through season 2 and its the exact same bit over and over, and its gotten to the point where it has driven right off the cliff. The male MC is in couple of words F'in stupid, I mean as dense as dense gets, harem protag x1000. Where most shows can get away with dumb characters because they put them into different situations this show doesn't do that, sure technically
...
the situations are different but the core of them is the exact same every segment, save for the ones with the 3 girls which surprisingly were refreshing this season. I simply can't get by this dude.. I hear it gets better but I'm 18 episodes in now with 0 male MC growth. Takagi the female MC has moved...perhaps if your generous. the two have a thing for each other and she's less then subtle but due to her "teasing", which really wouldn't be to any kid with half a brain, he takes it as such.
I guess I should address my thoughts on the whole premise. The two are in middle school, 2nd year in 2nd season, so this would put them at about 13. So were not talking super grown and if it wasn't so constant, the "teasing' that is and the epic fail of the male MC, then it would be understandable. The thing is, is that there is a threshold for believability and that ends well before the 900 days in a row mark. There would come a time where he would either accept it as par for the course and the taunts would become less effective as he would know what is going to be said or the general facility, or he would eventually learn her tricks and at least become better at evasion. Honestly considering how dense the MMC is portrayed it would likely be the first if this was a IRL situation. I've gone on about this guy too much as it is though. Suffice to say he is the main reason for the drop and really hurt the score in several areas.
Takagi the FMC showed a little progress in the first half, and being the only character that seems capable of movement at all in the show, of the MC's the 3 girls are... kinda different, it just wasn't enough to make it interesting. actually let's talk about the 3 girls section. It was nice this time around, perhaps it got better as a contrast to my growing dislike of the MMC, but it seemed they attempted to flesh them out a bit more and some of their situations were really humorous and relatable.
Past that the art is still solid the sound is about the same as well not a whole lot to talk about there. I had hopes for this after seeing some reviews, came in hoping for more critical hit moments, but all I got were a bunch of epic fails.

This show could have been great, but it settled for mediocre at best. There are 2 MC's Takagi as the female and Nagisa I think as the guy. Honestly the Male MC went from humorous, to annoying real quick. He has no growth, he is essentially the same in ep 12 as in ep 1, his goals are the same, his methods though tech different are the same level of shallow, executions the same and his reactions the same. Honestly he is the weakest part. The show had an interesting premise, think Kaguya-sama but younger. However no, Takagi as an MC was alright, she
...
seemed more 3d then the Male mc, she would show restraint when she thought the male was sick, offer help and what not though it was still fairly minimal. The show has supporting characters though they are barely worth a mention.
the Male MC friends pop in every now and again but don't really contribute much save for one episode later where they offer the setup. then there are 3 female side characters which honestly I have no idea why they were in the show. There is no interaction with the main cast they just kind of are there doing things.. and yea, perhaps a palate cleanser? Outside of this there are two others a couple who you are introduced to early on in the show and pop in periodically. Its obvious they know the MC's and serve mainly as a juxtaposition to the main 2 and to hint that they appear to be in a relationship.
Outside the characters the art in the show is pretty solid though nothing groundbreaking, The audio is alright the opening was fun to watch for the first couple episodes but nothing was especially catchy.
Overall, it was an alright show nothing I would go out of my way to watch and likely won't be very high on my rewatch list. I know there are 2 more seasons out now though I am not super excited to check them out. It's not bad if your bored and have nothing else to watch just don't go in with too high of expectations.

I have seen my fair share of anime. from the trashiest trash to some really solid ones. This anime ranks in the latter. I have read some of the reviews for the show and even the top ones are pretty hard on it and all for the same reason, they don't like ecchi. I'm honestly not convinced any of them watched past episode 2 but got their info from twitter.
The story is that of a guy who is pursuing what he loves, making hina dolls, even though it is not what people would consider normal. He is self
...
conscious about it and does his best to hide it from the world. In comes Marine who has her own passion that being cosplay hence the name of the show. She is personality wise not total opposite of the MC as despite what the people say this is not a bland and boring MC he has his own personality one key aspect of that is being an introvert who never really interacted with people so has few social skills. She talks to the MC because in his passion he had become at the very least passible with a sowing machine which she couldn't work to save her life. She enlists him to make her cosplay and shenanigans ensure from there.
The show has good attention to detail and some amazing art. It hits many aspects of making cosplay and builds believable characters. One of the first things is taking measurements for the outfit, this is done with women in their underware, Marine brings a swimsuit, the MC is unsure how to handle this given his lack of social skills and lack of familiarity with the female body. Is this scene earthshattering? No.. is it well done? Yes.. does it have ecchi? yes. was it over the top? perhaps a little at times but not as bad as it could have been. As it goes it hits a much more human note when a misunderstanding and lack of communication lead the MC to rush the order puttin him under much undo stress. Honestly this was probably one of the best moments in the show as it really humanized the characters. It goes on from there with more people wanting cosplay and talking about other types of insecurities as their relationships build.
As mentioned before the art in the show is great, I figured that after the first couple episodes there would be a noted drop off and while you could tell they were strained a bit at the end there was no big drop, and the important scenes got the attention they deserved and needed.
The music was pretty solid, sounds added some ambience and the OP is aight. closing is bout the same. not much to really say here.
Overall this show is a solid watch if your not scared of boobs and panties. It's a feel good slice of life that has some real character to it and can give you a glimpse into the struggles of a cosplayer or more specifically a cosplay makers troubles while touching on human struggles and fears, wants, desires, and all that good jazz. With it being 12 episodes its a quick watch hopefully a season 2 will be soon in coming. I would definitely suggest it though even if not just for the feel goods.

I think this anime suffers from mischaracterization. This anime is not really a Comedy. If anything this anime is more in the line of RE:Zero though admittedly not as good though there is potential.
some of the next may be considered spoilers.
The show sets up to tackle some deep issues. The MC faces bullying in real life and attempts to escape a shit life in a game which turns out to be well even shittier. Not only does the bullying cont in the game but its a fantasy setting like any game with all the pain and tbh a title system that takes away from
...
the anime.
The characters in the show are.. interesting the MC dealing with his stuff though hasn't had too much progress though recently he has started working through them and growing a back bone. The NPC's are fairly well done and show where this show could really flourish as a psychological horror show. You have a psycopath, a perfect example of a yandere, a government conspiracy, and other things that would lend well to an darker anime. Again the show suffers from the lable comedy.
Overall I don't think this is a bad show. It's not a great show but it is worth a watch as long as you don't go in thinking your gonna laugh alot.

Not sure exactly what they were going for with this show. Main protag is.. pathetic, reminiscent of the protag in caretaker of Sonohara save for the later has a growing backbone. The show may have been trying to sell a card game like yu-gi-oh, but if this is the case it does a horrible job. The first fight gives no concept of how the game works and felt like watching to 6 yr olds argue over who took how much damage while playing at heroes. This perhaps was the largest turn off. it all just seems shallow.
All in all not my cup of tea but
...
I'm sure there is a certain subsect of Anime fans that will ride this ship to port.
alright apparently this has to be longer so yea guess ill pontificate.
art was solid for the most part actually really nice in some scenes and meh in some of the battle ones.
The sound was decent, I liked the OP

TLDR: solid show some, has a lot of the same but some nice twists. Art can take a bit to get used to, the backgrounds are more pastel I think is the right term which took a little to get used to. Characters are good and go through some growth as the season moves forward. Has a general High fantasy setting (goblins, kobolds, magic, ect.)
This show initially caught my eye as what I thought would be a run of the mill isekai. The premise was interesting enough, a group of people brought into a world they know nothing about and now have to find a
...
way to survive. The real difference here is that unlike most Isekai where the protag has full memories of their past and tend to be a bit on the op side the group you are introduced to has no memory of their past lives just a lingering feeling in the back of their mind and are on the weaker side if anything. This leads to them needing to focus more on teamwork and becoming a proper party vs following an OP MC and riding on the coat tails of what they do.
This is in effect what the anime focuses on. It didn't dive deep into the setting or give a ton of lore to the enemy characters, but then how much lore do you really need when it comes to goblins. They did however give the monsters personallity. When fighting a goblin and it knows its gonna die it tries to run. showing that when not in combat they have their own communication and connections. like I said it's not in depth but the hints are there and it adds something to the show I think.
The party goes through a lot and as it evolves it deals heavily with the idea of life, death, and the grieving process. The characters aren't all amazing there was one in particular that didn't really rub me the right way, but even that character was necessary and again they are a party formed together to try to survive in a world they know nothing about, being best friends isn't a prereq for something like that. We all have had to work with people we otherwise wouldn't give the time of day too and as the story starts to wrap up even said character has some growth though they don't lose the parts that annoyed me but i actually feel that's ok. You don't have to like every person in an anime for it to be good.
The sound in this show is solid, nothing really felt out of place and the animation for the characters was good and smooth. Especially in fights, everyone had their own style and it was well animated.
I would suggest giving this a shot for anyone who is a fan of isekai or of general High fantasy stuff. It probably wont be the best you've ever seen but it wont be a waste of time either.

TLDR: Non-existant story, Meh side characters, MC is a pushover(not unusal)
FMC is about as likable as a hot sauce enema, arts decent, sounds good, would not recommend.
This show seems to be one of those love it or hate it types, I myself feel relatively indifferent on it. Being only 7 episodes in I can't say I'm excited for what happens next. The story is pretty meh, nothing seems to happen. The MC is cool if a bit of a shrimp. The FMC is Horrible... honestly I can't think of a really good thing about her. She's an eccentric type at her core but a
...
complete Narcissist. The first episode she treats everyone like they are nothing then the second one she blackmails another club and threatening to throw a false rape charge on them if they don't give her what she wants. Hard to look at a character objectively after something like that.
The show itself is classified as a comedy which is normally my cup of tea but I couldn't really find the humor in it. There were a couple points that got a little chuckle from me but for the most part it didn't hit the spot. This of course could be just me myself, though I'm usually pretty good at spotting where jokes are even if they aren't my taste.
The other characters are at best alright you got a bit of fan service which is nothing really special and with no meat to sink your teeth into its hard to appreciate. You have the stoic bookworm which is dialed up to 20. I think she's said 10 words in the 5 or so episodes she's in. The "mysterious" transfer which is probably one of my fav characters just for how he and the MC are together on screen.. it feels the most natural.
The art in the show is pretty decent, nothing groundbreaking but then this did come out in the 00's. The sound is pretty good too.
Overall if you have nothing better to do and nothing better to watch... well i still can't recommend this. With the shear amount of anime out there unless you have done nothing but for a few decades there is likely something better.
I will continue the series though and revise this when I complete it. Who knows maybe it just has a stupidly slow first half and really takes off in the 2nd.
