NOW THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE AN ANIME ABOUT VTUBERS

This anime is the hidden gem of this season without a doubt—too underrated for its own good.

Imagine one day you are watching your oshi's livestream. From what you know, she's a very "seiso" VTuber: warm, wholesome, polite, and has a strong sense of dignity and elegance. After a few moments, she decides to end the stream, but well, oh well, she forgets to turn it off. Then you find her saying a lot of stuff that's not "seiso" at all.

Vtuber Legends tells the story of an ex-corporate slave trying her luck in the VTubing industry. Though ... she doesn't seem to have much luck in this industry either, one day a happy accident happens to her, exposing her much more vulgar, bubbly, and frontal side. Instead of going with a serious tone, the creator decides to have the most wholesome outcome of this situation, where everyone actually supports and likes her real personality.

This anime has a lot of comedy and is actually funny. It's one of the few animes that can genuinely make people laugh, especially if you are a VTuber fan. There's a lot of deranged words getting thrown around, like "gooning" and "came," which mostly come from our MC, and this is very accurate to real life, as there are indeed some VTubers that act like that. There's also a lot of VTuber-related content presented in this anime, such as VTubers simping on other VTubers, Yuri shipping, clipping, and they even created VTuber avatars specifically for this anime, which is good stuff.

Aside from all the comedy and over-exaggerated VTuber shenanigans, this anime also shows a grounded and realistic side of VTubing, like monetization, collabs, content management, and so on. So it's not only entertaining, but it also gives you a glimpse into how the VTubing industry works.

This anime also highlights the bond and friendship between VTubers that is supportive towards each other, and it tries to convey a positive message to always be yourself.

Every character is likable, especially our MC. Despite the fact that she's loud and a booze addict, she's still a fun and charming character, and Ayane Sakura really gives it her all in voicing her—one of the best voice acting performances this season.

The animation is beautiful and colorful. I also love how they're more focused on animating and designing the main characters, so much so that they don't even bother designing background characters, only showing them as grey, headless stickmen.

The opening song is a bop—that is the type of music that makes you want to dance like a maniac.

Overall, if you are a VTuber fan, this is highly recommended. Even for non-VTuber fans, this anime still works well as a comedy anime.

Fun, fun, fun.

Is what can be best described as when it comes to this show. While also being a semi realistic take on VTubers, and VTubing as a whole. As VTubers come in all shapes and sizes. I say semi realistic too, as it's not 100% of what and how VTubing is like or goes. But it's certainly a very close enough take, that it almost feels like it is. If you are a fan of VTubers, then you're going to love this show, and everything that it stands for. Let me explain.

Story and characters: 8
We all dream big. We all do. While again, I ... noted that this is a semi realistic take, but stuff like it can indeed happen. As there is so much range, and depth in the VTubing sphere. Hell one of your best friends could be a VTuber right now.Or be balls deep within such, it almost feels like they are. But my point is more, that it doesn't matter if there is a wide off the mark points within the show, as there will be some truth to those words and scenes, cause of the wide range of VTubers. You can tell the people behind this, really did their in depth research.

Anyone can be a VTuber after all. Sometimes you just need your big break. You can hear many stories from successful creators. Dokibird, Maidmint, among others. Who put their all into VTubing, Much like the characters presented within the show do too. If that's not a realistic take on VTubing, and VTubers, I'm not sure what is.

Art and sound: 8
I'll go into a certain part of this in full detail, as it's a neat touch that really sends it home. But what the product looks in general, is very well animated, and drawn. Not to mention of how it sounds, as if too, every single VA not only gave it their all, but had a blast while doing such scene by scene. As Is said in the story, but it fits here too, it's as if they really did a big deep dive into the subject matter, and actually looked to see how VTubers are like, how they sound, the works. Attention to detail has been taken in very carefully here, and it shows.

What one touch that I really dug, was within episode 3, which really highlighted how the show works. By that I mean not actively showing them outside their personas. After all, some have characters, some have an extended versions of themselves. Or really, all of it IS ourselves. It's what we either SEE OURSELVES as. Or would WANT to be. So for this show, to only show the 'persona' and never their look outside of their models, is a neat touch. They escaped the wage slave, escaped a forced version of themselves, and they can truly be THEM. Which is shown through it's presentation. Great stuff.

Honestly. What an actual good solid show for VTubing. Go watch it now.

Wow as a vtuber fan this was so extremely entertaining!
(Art: 9/10) I‘m positively surprised since the animation is much better than I expected. The characters are beautiful and very accurate. They are certainly based on real vtubers since I immediately got reminded of some of the most famous ones while watching.
(Plot: 7,5/10) The story doesn’t have the depth that some other animes have but it carries the meaningful message of not being afraid of being yourself in front of others. This message is delivered hidden in silly and fun episodes that contain a surprisingly sexual humor.
(Overall: 8/10) If you‘re looking for a fun ... and mood lifting anime for in-between this is definitely something for you! I for sure had a enjoyable time watching these first episodes and I‘m excited for the upcoming episodes!

V-Tubers? You watch them, right?
Streamers who use a 3D modeled anime characters, or the fact that most tend to be women, as their main excitement. And with that brings some “down bad” people in chat, and a bit of lighthearted comedy.

Well, to be honest, I don't think “VTuber Legend” is quite as amazing as people let on to be.
Such as its comedy. Now this can be a bit subjective, but I never exactly found the comedy to be very funny since most of it revolves around either being obnoxiously lewd from exercising or the MC saying out of hand sentences when drunk off ... 2 beers as a character trait.
Now that isn't to say that there are not some funny moments, but I found all of them were mostly in the first episode, with each consecutive episode being less comical and more bland in terms of comedy.

Is it fun though? That depends on if you like V-Tubers and want a story to watch, instead of actually going out of your way to watch a real V-Tuber and their antics. It probably is more enjoyable to actually watch a V-Tuber instead of this though, but that depends on if you would rather watch anime over a V-Tuber.

A good show with a LOT of easter eggs. I want to talk about them, because nobody did till now.

The youtube thumbnails from real Vtubers (i saw some Hololive VTUBER over the funniest way to call out school days. All the mentions of real eroge and games like Sausage Legend let my laugh a lot. It is real close to a real vtuber stream at times.


This show is a ride for me. From the cast over some of the gags and situations, it just a feel good show. One of the rare shows where most gags works for me. ... And praise the Voice Actress for our Main Character. This was a real strong performance.

I think some of the animation decisions specially in episode one where wack, but to include real VTUBER Models is apreciatet. They real tried a lot for this series. For a all talk one, there is a lot of motion and cuts and this helps a lot.

So yeah. Real underatet.
