A big fan of the manga, the backstory of the main characters turn out to be great. Rick's party Orihalcon Fist is fun on screen, the waifus are cute, and the production is surprisingly good. While the world building and magic system is rehashed and generic, the self-aware humour keeps it a little fresh and the lovable "40-something" year old MC makes me feel young and hopeful. The following arc is great - Broughston's past in the manga honestly made me tear up.
If you're a fan of overpowered MC trash I'd definitely recommend "Shinmai Ossan Boukensha". If you don't yet have this aquired taste then maybe this show isn't for you and you'll think this review is batsh*t insane.
