Alya is nothing new as a concept . Somewhat lone wolf mc is the only one that gets along with miss perfect and they tease and are playful with each other. Bruh there's even a promised girl wtf .

However, like bunny girl senpai, the characters are the main focus and the deutagonists are very decent so far, with the rest of the cast looking not too bad

It reminds me of a tsurezure childern crossed over with kaguya sama

If you like SOL/romcom with no big overarching plot but funny moments and cute stuff (with the tasteful fan service. Feet and leg guys were eating good after ep 1)

Then look no further to this one. Devote yourself comrade, to the alya-manifesto

Only issue is that the actual romance stuff isn't gonna happen for a long time , so come in with expectations low in that department

The anime actually surprised me with its ability to make me laugh, I wasn't expecting that, so it was a pleasant surprise

The anime that terrified Twitter users, the anime that makes pseudocults cry with anger and hide under their beds, the anime that brings the entire essence of the anime industry to itself.

Russian waifu.

A great anime, which brings all the essence and development of Doga Kobo over the years into a silly high school romance, and even with all the cliches it is a fun anime that entertains the viewer.

While Westerners are furious with Russia, the producer doesn't care about that at all, goes there, and produces one of the best works of 2024. Russia is a country, which has humans, humans ... who have feelings, dreams , desires, and it is not what their leaders decide that makes them bad or good. Prejudice against Russians grows more and more every day with the mainstream media making them villains, banning them from participating in sporting events, which for me is an unjustifiable persecution against a cultural group, which cannot be proud to represent its flag. . Alya's anime comes at a perfect time, which, almost unintentionally, shows that Russians know how to love.

The anime's proposal is basic, nothing special, but it is well executed. It's not possible to say that it's a spectacular or innovative anime, however it's something that really entertains people who like this niche. When Doga Kobo wants to pick a theme, they go there and execute it very well, just look at their themes: girls who create games (New Game!), girls from the gym (Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?), girls who fish (Houkago Teibou Nisshi). And from simple theme to simple theme, they execute it perfectly, well directed and with a style that pleases all viewers.

I wanted to take this paragraph, to congratulate Ryouta Itou, director of this anime, in addition to having significant work in other great animes such as Steins;Gate, Oshi no Ko and Monogatari, which are animes known for having good direction, I believe that Ryouta Itou It was a big difference for this anime to become so relevant, a guy with great experience in the anime industry who has carried out several works, masterfully shows how to direct an anime. He shows that he knows how to balance the rhythm of an anime, so that it is neither too overwhelming nor too chaotic. A great, practically anonymous hero.

I simply love the characters in the work, I think they bring a lot of charisma, and everyone contributes to the plot in some way. All the characters manage to encourage the viewer to get to know the character more. The protagonist has an important role, although his personality is not the focus, he still manages to carry the weight of being the protagonist. The romantic interests are all cool to see, his sister despite not being a romantic interest, their interaction is very comical and I think her personality adds a lot to the anime. Alya's personality really pleases me too, the anime industry hasn't had a waifu like her for some time.

I definitely recommend this anime to everyone who enjoys this niche of anime, Nisekoi style, or even giving a poorer example, kanojo okarimashu. It may not be for everyone, you will definitely see a lot of these channels or "cult" personalities who will say that the anime has no depth and that it is pretty rubbish. But in reality the focus of the anime is to actually do something within its proposal, that is, if you like the proposal, you will certainly like the anime, however if you don't like the proposal, it is more difficult for you to enjoy it.

the animation of this anime is great. the story is SO MUCH SWEET, you need insulin for it.

the heroine is great not only they so well drawn, they have decent backstory why they fallen for mc (well this harem btw)

i've been waiting too long for this kind anime since 2014 (or less) i actually total lost interest for romantic comedy, till eventually get recomended ... this from my weebs friend that always watch every anime every seasons.

Get ready for laugh-out-loud moments with both witty dialogue that plays on the language barrier and classic situational comedy.
Plenty of humour and tension comes from the classic tsundere Alya expressing her true feelings (often frustration or affection) in Russian, completely unaware that her love interest, Masachika, understands the language, creating hidden emotions and confusion that drive the story's humour.

The girls look absolutely adorable, with well-developed ... leads with distinct personalities that playoff each other well. The supporting side characters add to the overall drama and tension, and the modern art style is a nice touch that really complements the lighthearted tone of the narrative.

Looking for a modern tsundere rom com with a touch of jealousy? then this series might just be the perfect pick for you!

As much as there is going to be a dozen Isekais, or power fantasy shows per season of anime. Romcoms are bound to make an appearance to boot. Now you may be thinking. The high rating? With such a usual simple premise, and simple idea? Well that's the beauty of it. When it's done right, it's done right.

Tokidoki Bosotto while being the norm in terms of a romcom, least tries it's best to be an entertaining product throughout it's run time. Going for a more reactive, and cute option, rather than seemingly being too calm to come off as boring. Giving it that bit of ... flavor, as if adding a bit of spice to it in a good way, can only drive this show's success home. Which is truly reflected upon it's characters.

Story and characters: 7
This is the main highlight of the show clear as day.

Whats to really love in regards to it, is how each character reacts to one another, which can lead to some funny, and cute moments. While not being too over the top to look goofy and silly. The type of realistic comedy, mixed in through some good story telling, that really pushes the plot along. The simple approach for me really comes in strong, to make it a good story driven show, that'll only get more enjoyable each and every week. Long as they can keep up with the pace, then it's as good as gold. You won't go wrong with enjoying this show.

To touch more into the story itself, along with the cast. You pretty much know what to expect when regards to a basic romcom formula, and while I'll say the characters aren't anything fully to write home about. But it's because of that, is why it works so nicely. Everything flows so nicely, and believable. Asif you're seeing a real world romance, or the build up to one. Along with some natural banter thrown in for good measure. Can't really go wrong there. Well done.

Art and Sound: 7
They've certainly done well in this department, it's not complete standout like other shows, but it really doesn't need to be. Long as it's presented, and constructed well, along with following nicely scene by scene. Then it does it's job. Along with having a great sound team behind it. Can't really go wrong. I am quite a fan of how the OP and ED are presented to boot. It's the kinda of product that while has a simple concept, doesn't try to go over the top, and looks just right to make a well balanced looking and sounding quality product. You can't go wrong there.

Part of wishes I could end this with review with something upbeat in Russian, but I can't do that haha. Tokidoki Bosotto will be a good anime to enjoy this season, and be a fun watch each and every week. Give it a go!

One of the best Tsundere in Anime history. Right from the start, the main girl captures you like a hook. I Got Toradora vibes immediately. This show is Simple but very satisfying to watch. Funny + Beautiful artwork + Opening is a masterpiece , such a Bop and Flowing like a River. Usually shows like this are a hard pass for me as they are annoying with no substance. This show has a constant push and pull that makes you interested , it is not just fan service.. Also unique concept with the Russian twist as well. Don't think i have ever seen that. Each ... character has it's own purpose and is funny.

Alya is easily the strongest new series of the Summer 2024 season. Unfortunately, that's not as big a compliment as it would have been in nearly any other season in the last couple of years, but this show still would have been a standout even in a much stronger season than this one.

The show doesn't break any new ground, but that's not a bad thing. Here we get a fairly standard love story of a tsundere falling for the lazy otaku who's actually a bit more competent than he initially seems, mixed in with an unnecessary -but cute- gimmick of her blurting out all her ... feelings in another language that she thinks he can't understand, but does. Add in a complex sibling relationship with a misleading public facade and the fact that the MC seems to be the most well-liked guy in school who's developing the faintest beginnings of a harem, and there are enough complications to keep this thing going for a while and keep it interesting that whole time.

If you've seen a few romcoms, you have the idea of what is going on here, but it's the execution that matters and they nail it here. All of these characters have relationships with one another that extend beyond the fact that know the main character. Everyone has their own personality and their own agendas. While we definitely get some tropes thrown in there, the characters are much more fully realized human beings than those in 9 out of 10 other romcoms. As the cherry on top of this great story, we also get Doga Kobo serving it up with animation that is leagues better than required... better than we could have hoped for... hell, better than we deserve. I'm not sure how, or why, but this is 8 out of 10 material that's getting a 10 out of 10 adaptation; that alone makes it worth your time to check it out.

As a light novel reader, I think this anime adaption is pretty damn good, some scenes are kinda off according to the light novel but this is still a solid work from Doga Kobo

Also the animation gives me Shikimori vibe here for some reasons lol.

The anime primarily explores themes of cultural differences and adaptation, using humor to address the challenges faced by someone navigating a new country and culture. The tone is light-hearted and comedic, focusing on everyday scenarios and misunderstandings rather than deep emotional drama.

Voice Acting and Sound:
The voice acting is a highlight of the anime. The seiyuus (voice actors) deliver their lines with emotion and authenticity, especially in the scenes where Alya switches between Japanese and Russian, although her accent in Russian is kinda ehhh like 7/10 but still understandable. The soundtrack complements the tone of the anime, with light, catchy tunes during the romantic and comedic moments and more subdued tracks during the emotional scenes.

But for those who likes a quick romance development like Horimiya or Bunny Girl Senpai, I wouldn't recommend this anime BUT PLSSSSSSS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT JUST IGNORE IT DON'T RATE IT LOW PLSS because the relationship between Masachika and Alisa develop pretty slow ngl. BUT ONCE AGAIN PLS DON'T RATE IT LOW THIS ANIME DESERVES BETTER!!!
Also I wanna write about Yuki as well but that's a spoiler so nahh, if you interest in this anime just GIVE IT A TRY, IT'S WORTH WATCHING

As of currently aired episode 6, this anime still good and placed amongst my Top 5 Summer 2024 anime.

The storyline still decent and better than overrated Komi-san, Angel Next Door, Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu etc.

Characters also relatable and not too much dense. For MC, although he still got common cliche anime MC troupe, he still got some sense and totally not dumb/dense enough to realize female characters' feeling. My favorite character that got me to still engage with this anime is Suou Yuki. Although I hate imouto troupe, Yuki got some uniqueness that other anime imouto don't have. Her humor and cringiness made ... this anime alive. Actually or rather technically, Yuki is the one that carries this anime the most other than Alya cute Russian mumblings.

For those who spit fire of hatred towards this anime, probably same as every Oreimo and DomeKano haters. They don't like incest spiciness. For those haters, I would like them to compare as Demon Slayer without hashira, Attack on Titan without Titans, Jujutsu Kaisen without Curse, Bleach without Bankai and One Piece without Devil Fruit. Those things are same as incest spiciness in romcom anime. Just accept it.

The music are very nice with wholesome OP and pretty good cover for the EDs. Too bad Hayami Saori didn't involve in this anime but rather be in another anime (Giji Harem).

Hopefully this anime can get a better ending on final episode to not "blockcocked" us. This anime as of right now, I would rate it solid 8 out of 10.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started watching this anime. Truth be told, at the very beginning, the MC didn't cause me to have a lot of hope due to his generic design. However, over time, I've found myself liking him.

Overall, I'm happy to say that the anime has exceeded my expectations.

Masachika, the MC, may have a generic look, but his personality is actually pretty cool and even feels unique when he interacts with his sister's teasing in the 2nd episode about greeting each other. Speaking of his sister, Yui; she definitely entertains. All the characters are handled very well and ... I think it's always important to distinguish the surrounding cast. Unfortunately, many anime fails to do that.

While the overall animations and design is not going to be anything to "write home about", it certainly does the more important aspects, such as entertainment, very well. I also like the pacing. It doesn't cram a bunch of info down your throat as soon as it can. Certain information about characters and their past are revealed in due time AND at appropriate timing.

While it is yet another "high school romance with popular girl", it actually does the niche a lot better than 90% of prior anime.

While I would like to give it a "9", the highest I've ever rated an anime, I think it's more appropriate as an "8". Wbtw, is still a good anime and worth watching and even reading the manga.

Genre stereotypes with a touch of added freshness.

I didn't know what to expect from a simple rom-com, and lately, I couldn't find anything that caught my attention. I was always searching for something new to seriously engage my time with. This anime adaptation stems from an original idea by a young author, and it impressed me right away.

Two protagonists in a rom-com, each with their own well-defined goals, living their lives. Same as every other work out there? Not at all. The author decides that our 'heroine' expresses her emotions in another language and chooses the austere Russian. A sweet girl from the anime world ... suddenly expressing herself in Russian creates a comedic interlude that strikes the viewer unexpectedly, setting it apart from all other works in the same genre. This distinction renews and refreshes.

The world in which the two live is small and easily recognizable, and the characters they interact with are diverse and unique. The atmosphere in which the story unfolds is stereotypical yet genuine, making this work, in my opinion, easy to follow.
The animations are well-crafted, and the voice acting suits the characters. (The Japanese-Russian duality is hard to get used to, but, as I mentioned, once assimilated, it becomes a strong point).

Highly recommended.

When the Russian spy converts to a tsundere, a good story begins! Don't sleep on this show people! Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is literally Takagi-san meets Kaguya-sama, Russo-Japanese War edition. We are in for a ride thanks to lovable characters, a wholesome plot, and funny moments that will make you smile!

Here we have Masachika Kuze, our ordinary school boy whose complex relationship with Alya grows episode by episode. He lives to tell the tale that getting kicked can point you in the right direction towards love. For those who feel bored of plots revolving around classrooms and school festivals, this is not ... your ordinary school love story show. There is more to Kuze than meets the eye and Alya is not just another seasonal tsundere!

This show manages to get the "I won't say yes or I love you easily" vibe right, leading to hilarious shenanigans that will teach you Russian. The occasional bilingual nature of this show is what makes it entertaining to watch. I look forward to seeing how Kuze and Alya's convoluted bond will blossom like a flower watered by Russian vodka. Free Russian language lessons had never been this interesting. This show has potential to have more than one season. Definitely worth a watch.

Much funnier than the manga. Alya is animated perfectly, her live mannerism takes the show to the next level.

Don't expect much plot, it is a sitcom. Most of the fun is what they say to each other in different situations. The plot is basically "this dreaming boy is a realist" plus some lines from Nisekoi without marriage and mafia.
The characters are also generic.

It is a rare anime where the main heroine starts out as anal perfectionist narcissistic violent bitch and grows up from this.

Sex as a main driver and motivation for almost everything.
It is a rare anime that clearly shows that in high school the dating prospects totally upend the person's perspective, motivate to do this like nothing other.

About Russian
Who TF complains about Uesaka Sumire's Russian? Her Russian pronunciation is great and absolutely not a Japanese accent.
She makes small mistakes with consonants, like saying "ka rebyonok" instead of "kak rebyonok" or "totzhe" instead of "tozhe", and her "yy" is not perfect, but her "lya", "rya", "lyu" are very good.

Ah what could be better than an anime love triangle? Especially when two of them are siblings...
The main character Masachika is childhood friends with two of the most popular girls in school Alya and Suou.

Alya is half Russian. So she speaks in Russian when she wants to hide her feelings from Masachika. But here's the twist, Masachika understands Russian but never told Alya. So she is constantly confessing her feelings for him without knowing that he understands.

Suou is Masachika's younger sister. She's a bit of an otaku. And a bit of a brocon (their relationship is not incestuous though). No one knows they are siblings ... because she poses as his childhood friend. Suou likes to tease and manipulate Masachika and Alya. But she's not mean spirited she just does it for a harmless laugh.

The three main characters are fun and likeable. Its really entertaining to see them interact with each other.
The fact that Alya believes that Suou and Masachika are a couple, and the fact that she doesnt realize Masachika can understand her Russian makes it a very fun premise for an anime.

Did you ever find yourself with a bunch of girls having a crush on you during your high school days? No? Same here, but this anime might give you a glimpse of what it could be like...maybe.

Right away, this anime stuffs in so many tropes from your average rom-com anime.

Here comes the main heroine of the show, angelic-looking in her glory, walking to school elegantly. All eyes are on her, praising how lucky they are to witness such a beautiful creation of God, only to have an annoying "popular" dude Jojo posing and flirt with her and of course, he gets rejected and has his ... entire bloodline microwaved instantly.Check

The most basic looking MC being dense and "anti-romance" in every damn scene, dodging every love code from the heroines like it was a bullet,matrix style.Check

A childhood friend who will be a rival to the main heroine, actively teasing her and having lovey-dovey moments with the MC? Check.

An awfully clingy little sister who wakes you up while strategically placing her bosom right up against your schlong, cleavage out and shit? Check.
And surprisingly, she's into incest? Check.

And any other rom-com trope you’ve ever witnessed in a rom-com anime appears in this anime. The only difference that separates this from your average rom-com anime is the constant language switch from the heroines, who happen to be Russian. She use this "language barrier" to hide her actual feelings from the MC. And surprise, surprise, the MC actually speaks Russian and understands every single bit of their feelings. But of course, being your average anime MC, he decides to play dumb and questions what she means, like someone with an IQ below room temperature.

As for the Russian, I think the VA did a pretty great job because I couldn't understand anything she said without subtitles, as I don't speak Russian. The change in her voice tone when she starts speaking Russian really makes it better.

This anime also contains several fanservice moments, like casual panty shots and clothes-changing scenes. Not the type of fanservice that would make you leak precum, but enough to make you go "woah..."

The animation is not the best in the game, but it's far from bad.The heroines are eye-catching because, well, this is a waifu-selling anime. Can't say the same for the MC.The character designs aren't the most unique either, but they do the job.

The plot is not deep and is quite lighthearted. Most of the story is just a compilation of lovey-dovey moments and comedy in the MC's daily life. Even if there's a conflict, it wouldn't be far-fetched from your average high school drama. But it works for this kind of anime; you don't really need an overly deep and prolonged conflict in this type of story, just like you don't need a quadratic formula to solve 1+1.

Really recommended for those who have a sweet tooth and want some of that sugar in their veins and hearts.

Also, watch this if you want to relive your early days of watching rom-coms like Nisekoi, Oreshura, and Toradora. This type of anime is usually very similar, so similar that you might have that Ratatouille flashback moment going on.

As per usual, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is a master class in character driven plot. Not only did the episode bring a more so light-hearted take on the token rom-com tropes, but the show emanated an almost divine radiance of soul coupled alongside the main plotline.
Unfortunately, some critics may argue that the aforementioned token rom-com tropes may have went too far when addressing the little sister interest narrative for the main protagonist. However, I'd like to argue that said scenes allowed for a greater understanding of the hidden motives surrounding future advancements in the plot. Furthermore, said scenes craft a ... witty narrative encompassing the underlying complexities surrounding human nature that exclude the characters from falling into the social mores of more mundane rom-com shows. The audience of Ayla Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian should be eternally grateful for such plights the author has taken to ensuring a show that will not only stand on its own for the simulcast season but a show that will forever pave the way forward and advance the medium of rom-com anime for generations to come.
I'm truly in awe of Alya as she descends upon her throne of heavenly grace to merely show herself to us mortals as her character exists in a world of solidarity and perfection that not even Dostoyevsky could've written.
This show may very well fix the global Russian exchange rate problem.

This anime is actually pretty good.

This Anime has a lot of potential to be the anime of the season. Story seems little predictable but it is very enjoyable for now.

It is simple and pretty. It has that good sense of what it is trying to do. And the characters are also interesting.

Anime contains just a little bit of fan service so that is added bonus.

Humor in this for now is also pretty good. I don't have any issues with Animation, I like the style they went for and think Animation is good.

There are couple of solid rom coms this season so competition is ... big, for now somehow this is my favorite and I see a lot potential in it, I hope that it delivers big on that potential.

Don't let the title turn you away from a good anime.

The premise of this anime is simple: the main character has a crush on a Russian student who speaks her mind in Russian. Unbeknownst to her, the boy has been learning Russian since he met a girl he fell for as a child.

Her thoughts are pretty funny, and his reactions are solid as well. I honestly find myself looking forward to each episode already. This is a solid romantic comedy that can make a top 10 list for many of my romantic friends out there!

The art and music are fine, and the story is ... good enough to keep you going!

There is only 3 episodes out now when I'm writing this but all of them are amazing it's cute it has drama it has amazing animation it has amazing voice acting what more would you whant?? It's plot is amazing the settings are amazing the story is told clearly and there is lore but not fnaf level lore so it shouldn't take long until your up to speed with everything in the universe if u liked the manga you will love this:3 I think anyone who likes romantic anime or just cute anime in general I think this is amed at teens and ... young adults
