Because I finally finished it and it took me a while but I think it finally started to make sense at the end. In particular, it's basically about capitalism and religion, right?
The surface world is painted as a shiny, corporate utopia which banished everyone they thought shouldn't breed underground to make the perfect world, but in reality it's no better than Lux. It's perfect and pretty and clean but in a way that feels hollow. You make it out alive just to find out your dreaded office job has been waiting for you the whole time, and when you say you killed one of your co-workers, you just get told in that soft, faux-kind corporate voice "and I'm sure you did a great job." The people have stopped caring and are just waiting to die, meanwhile the people their society deemed "inferior" are the ones fighting to live. Capitalism has sucked the life out of the people it's supposed to benefit meanwhile the people it tried to get rid of are the ones who want to live. The upper class used the lower class as an experiment and then abandoned them when they thought it didn't matter anymore.
But the surface's faux-utopia is also representative of heaven. Episode 19 is called Heavenward because going up to the surface is like going up to heaven, where it is pretty and light and clean. Except it's not heaven, but as the doctor puts it, Hades. Everyone there is already dead, and that's certainly not a good thing. They don't care about the impending apocalypse they're responsible for.
And of course, Ran is also representative of Christ, so the series seems to have a negative view of faith in that sense as well. You shouldn't look to some "prophet" to tell you everything you're supposed to do.
There's still a lot I'm not totally sure about. Like, Texhnolyzation, what exactly does that mean? The surface created it as an experiment for the betterment of mankind, but then gave up on it, even though it seems like it really could better mankind. Because they didn't care? Yet it was a different kind of texhnolyzation, a distorted kind, that took over Lux and ended everything. A distorted version of the beneficial technology they abandoned after taking advantage of the lower class because they stopped caring. Eh? Or, perhaps, is Texhnolzation a bad thing? Because the Organo favors it, and they're all up to no good---being almost a reflection of the surface in the way they take advantage of the weak to elevate themselves. So what's up with that?
I'm also still not sure what Yoshii's deal was. He wanted to cause problems on purpose because...?
Any insight would be appreciated.
EDIT: I forgot to mention this. Doc is like, a bootlicker. She's got a Suzaku Kururugi type idea of how social hierarchy works. You do everything right to climb up the social ladder but no matter what they'll never let you. They take advantage of how badly you want to but you'll never actually be up there.
Also, what was up with Toyama? My guess is that he represents a passive acceptance of poor conditions, with the way he just kind of goes along with being used like that. I felt pretty bad for him, so I was surprised by how sinister he was acting towards Ichise at the end. But perhaps that is because just like before, he has simply accepted these new bad conditions without resistance. But who knows.

My favorite Miku songs are anything by Wowaka (God rest his soul) aha, but I really like most of the classic ones such as Senbonzakura, Electric Angel (although I do think the Kagamine cover is better), The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku, etc. I also like Deco*27's work with Miku, and much more!
I haven't heard that song before though. Is it your favorite Miku song?
